Calderons a master boxer HOF and I respect him for taking this fight, but hes at the end of his career and Segura will finish him.

There is a very good chance u are correct my man,

On another subject rafa has about the best chance out of gamboa and caba to defeat juanma. In my opinion his counter punching abilities and exp out weighs anything the other two can bring to the table. As a matter of fact I think juanma stops gamboa and cab and struggles with rafa...juanmas team may be taking the wrong route.

I'm a big Calderon fan and this is a fight I've been hoping to see for a while.

I have no doubt a prime Calderon would take this easy but he has seemed to get hit a little more often in his more recent fights. Segura is as wild as they come at it is going to be difficult for Ivan to keep away from him for twelve rounds.

Definitely a case of the matador and the bull. I just feel the bull may come out on top.

I hope not because a win for Calderon would be great for his legacy.

I personaly think all 3 beat Juanma. But yes, Rafa does it the easiest.

Juanma has a good first round or two, then gets school for the next 4-6 rounds by Rafa and then Juanma is brutally knocked out.

Technically Calderon's in about 5 leagues higher, Segura is wild as hell, but heavy handed is an understatement for a man his size, i still think Calderon will win a close decision after a few shakey moments

The real successor is Roman Gonzalez.

Intresting, it seems you are drastically underrating juanma here. He can be tagged sure but he has a dramatic equalizer that if unleashed can put anyone of these men to sleep. The only reason I feel rafa has a great chance here is because juan can get carless but he is still more tecgnically sound than caba and gamboa combined.

If Segura wants to win it must be by ko and he has to do some roughhousing and not rely on the ref for anything. If Cazares had done that he would have stopped him in the late rounds.

Calderon deserves respect for making the most of what he had and winning for so long, but just like with Cory Spinks: once the legs go, a practitioner of his style is done for.

It's doubtful Ivan can stay away from Segura for an entire 12 rounds at this point.

Hmm. Dan Rafael reports that Segura's chief second will be Javier Capetillo (as Puerto Rico is outside the jurisdiction of his ban, despite being part of the USA).

    :think

I don't know if it's possible for me to get behind Segura now.

The thing is that Segura really dosen't work off the jab, he likes to get in there and bang. But against a master boxer like Calderon he will have to use that jab and keep Calderon at the end of it. Calderon is a great boxer but there are times where he does "run" a little too much for my liking.

If Segura can time Calderon and keep him at the end of his jab and not get fustrated with the Boricuas style he has a great chance of KOing IronBoy.

Why do people hate Calderon so much? The guy is one of the most skilled fighters still fighting and much props to him for facing a puncher like Segura. It seems like many people want him to lose just because he's undefeated and that's not right. Admittingly, I love to watch 0's go sometimes but I have much respect to undefeated fighters willing to take risks. I'm a fan of Calderon and hope he pulls off the victory. His legs are going but he should still have enough to beat Segura.
