I'm not complaining. Its not an ez thing to do making a list like that. But the point I made is valid. Ali was way overrated. Now maybe Cassius Clay in his youth was the best HW ever for a period of time, but looking at his entire career, I'd have to say that he wasn't. Frazier hated what Ali did to him, after all the help Joe provided to Ali with $$$ & helping him get his boxing license back. But as soon as their 1st fight was signed, he turned on Frazier & the personal digs he made towards Joe were unthinkable. A black man does not call another black man an "Uncle Tom" or a "Gorilla"...Joe wanted to beat his ass something terrible for those comments. How many know that Frazier had only partial vision in his left eye since 1964? So in Manilla, when his right eye closed up, he could barely see. BUT HE STILL WANTED TI FIGHT THAT 15th ROUND! Ali wanted to QUIT!
Ok list. BUT - Tunney should not be top 10 for beating rusty, past-prime Dempsey twice. Lennox Lewis should be AT LEAST no. 2. George Foreman should be between no. 7-5. lol you wrote Jack jackson instead of Johnson! This is Jack Jackson - http://boxrec.com/list_bouts.php?human_id=4627&cat=boxer
1) Joe Louis 2) Muhammad Ali 3) Jack Johnson 4) Rocky Marciano 5) George Foreman 6) Jack Dempsey 7) Joe Frazier 8) James Corbett 9) Mike Tyson 10) Evander Holyfield 11) Ezzard Charles 12) Lennox Lewis 13) Sonny Liston 14) Gene Tunney 15) Jersey Joe Walcott
Terrible list, as I said last time out when you posted this in the Classic. I don't have mine saved but I've posted it on here. I'll try and dig it up.
1 Joe Louis 2 Muhammad Ali 3 Jack Dempsey 4 Jack Jackson 5 Gene Tunney 6 Rocky Marciano 7 Joe Frasier 8 Lennox Lewis 9 Larry Holmes 10 George Foreman 11 Evander Holyfield 12 Mike Tyson 13 Sonny Liston 14 Ezzard Charles 15 Riddick Bowe
1. Louis 2. Ali 3. Marciano 4. Holmes 5. Dempsey 6. Lewis 7. Jeffries 8. Foreman 9. Frazier 10. Tyson 11. Johnson 12. Holyfield 13. Wladimir Klitschko 13. Liston 14. Bowe 15. Charles
I voted good but would rather have voted neither good nor bad. Bowe and Liston shouldn't be above Tyson. Marciano above Louis is pretty hard to defend. Dempsey probably too low. I wouldn't put in either Klit yet because I feel that it takes a good few years after the fighter has retired to get a proper perspective on where they stand. Rating current or very recent fighters on ATG lists is just asking for trouble. Lewis at number 2 seems to be getting a lot of flack but I think a strong argument could be made for it (not that I'd put him there). I brought that up in the Classic forum a while ago. They didn't like it so I'm on the fence with this one. Either way Frazier still doesn't get ahead of Ali on the top 10 list! Good argument could be made for Norton getting the better of Ali too.
1. Ali 2. Louis 3. Lewis 4. Holmes 5. Marciano 6. Frazier 7. Dempsey 8. Holyfield 9. Foreman 10. Tyson 11. Liston 12. Tunney 13. Charles 14. W Klitschko 15. Walcott
Tyson is 15th cos - He never beat an ATG heavy anywhere near their prime - shot, fat 38 year old Holmes And light-heavyweight Spinks don't count for ****. Tyson was only a champion for a combined 5 years and only a World Champion for 2 years. Fought in one of teh very weakest eras of all time, against shitty druggy-cokehead contenders. Gets undeserved credit for bieng the "youngest champion" but he was 22 yrs old in 1988 when he became world champoin - while floyd Patterson was 20 when he got teh World title. Was destroyed at his Peak by 42-1 underdog grade C journeyman Buster Douglas. This content is protected Was destroyed in his Prime by 25-1 underdog, old washed-up 34 year old Holyfield - who had been beaten by Moorer in 1994 And KO'd by a fat Bowe in 1995. This content is protected Never got off teh canvas in a fight. Is extreamly overated H2H cos of the xcellent promotion by Don King in teh 80's And 90's + Tyson had the biggest hype train of all time. Always had shitty stamina And no heart. 99% of people he beat where ****-scared of him And entered silent-agreements with Tyson not to try and win. Source - Teddy Atlas. Lost everytime someone had teh balls to stand-up to him cos he is a spineless bully And a coward. :deal :deal

Very good list. :thumbsup Only thing is i say you underate teh greatness of Holyfield - he does have wins over Prime Bowe And Prime Tyson.
Bowe is a very good win indeed, but he lost the series and was more inconsistent at HW than a lot on that list. Tyson was a good 8 years detatched from his prime. Although I feel a '91 Holy beats an '86-88 Tyson anyway.
The problems I have with your list are: Lewis too high, Louis too low. Wlad, Bowe, Vitali all too high.
