he does that when he has his opponents flustered, usually he throws his straight left with such quickness its hard to tell what he knocked his opponent down with.
Beranza has 18 loses is right but is durable and has a solid chin,i think we all knew Rigo would win this, the question is how will he look against someone who keeps coming? how will he move?will he be able to stop him? how will he react to that pressure?...Beranza fought for a belt against Vazquez Jr a yr ago, didnt he?and he coudnt be stop...i think Rigo drops his hand when he is sure he can do it, first he analized the rival, then he comes up with his plan. he will continue his climbing ina division where i dont see any problems to get a belt next yr.
The guy was 38-18 and 26 ko's, he is been there with the best of them and a couple of fights ago went d didstance with Vazquez Jr. I beleive.
My observations on Rigondeaux's pro fights (very favorable lol) *B+ physical abilities *A+ footwork and balance *A- punching power *A Accuracy *A Speed *A Timing *? Toughness *B+ Combos *C+ Killer Instinct *A+ Confidence *? Will to win
let's not forget that rigo got almost no sparring in houston for this fight, a member on my message board went to visit their training and recorded lara sparring with ricardo williams and rigo working out by himself, he asked rigo why he wasnt sparring and he said because the only 2 sparring partners that he got never came back and he couldnt find any others
So... critics say he doesn't let his hands go and that his style is very much an amateur style. I completely agree after watching this fight, it was even more pronounced than against Lante Addy two fights ago. He'd go entire rounds without hardly throwing a punch. This looked very much like his economic amateur style of his later years. However, this is exactly the style that I enjoyed watching in the amateurs and why I followed him as much as I could for so many years. So why do I complain? Well to be honest I'm not so sure I should. But I do have this notion of how you go about things in pro boxing and this isn't the way. On the other hand, if he can use this, in fact, unique style and be sucessful, it would be a really extraordinary accomplishment. And he will retire a healthy man. So far he's only been with Shields for a few weeks, though, so we'll have to wait for his next fight to see which way things are going.
Impressive. Has anyone heard anything about Rigondeaux fighting as a bantamweight? Or is it just talk?
