What are some mythical match-ups that you feel are too close to call?

I'd pick Ken over Macho, Louis over Holmes, and Quarry over Mercer.

Why? Ken's too tough for Macho. Louis would be able to bomb Holmes out after a tough scrap. Quarry would be able to go the distance with Mercer and win it (not via shutout).

 

True. Fighters with top-draw handspeed and constant, quick lateral movement are going to give Duran problems, and that's not Arguello for me or anyone else I hope.

I just think Pep's workrate is over-looked in this one as he was constantly moving and changing his angle, making him very hard to pin down all the time. That would be tough on a guy like Armstrong looking to come forward but there is nothing to come forward at!

Actually lately I have sided with Duran and Armstrong in these match-ups purely because they are the swarmers in the fight and broadly the swarmer beats a boxer.

I feel fairly confident in zarate beating Olivares, today. But I change my mind alot on it.

Addendum:Greb/Ketchel two immortals at middle. Lean towards Greb though.

First one that came to mind for me at lightweight, both at there peaks, can't pick it. Great as Duran was I think Chavez was something special as well. At the higher weights I would go for Duran.

 

Did you ever play the original 'Rocky' game on the old original XBox?? - Jeeesus we had some awesome matches where i'd be Randy Tate - a small Ezzard Charles sized heavyweight with zero power who was real quick - against my mate who would always be Bob Kray who was a giant 19 stone hefty and extremely slow but collossully powerful behemoth and i would be sticking and moving for all I was worth giving quick angles while my mate as Bob Kray would just be lumbering after me and the result would always be the same - we'd get into the 15th round and suddenly Tate's gas tank would run dry from all the running (and my own gas tank would run dry from all the laughing at all the near miss's) and then I would get nailed and KO'd flat out after being 14 rounds up!!!! :-( oh they were the days :yep

No, but he probably had a style better suited to playing the foil for a guy like Pep. The long arms and dirty clinch play that was such a major part of his game being the main factor. As unrelenting as Armstrong was, he rarely if ever initiated a clinch. The closest he came to initiating dirty tactics was boaring in with his head. I still might narrowly favor him, though.

Tyson V Frazier. Tyson could easily blast Frazier out in a couple of rounds,but if Joe could hang in there,he'd turn the fight into an inside war of attrition,which he was better at than Mike. If that occured,then Frazier would stop Tyson in the middle/late stages.
