AHAHA! Man....I don't look to "troll"...or whatever that **** means. I just state my piece and expect love or a debate. You gotta be kidding if you don't think Shane is a draw on par with Cotto. Their numbers are pretty identical thus far. The only reason why Cotto gets more press is b/c of his CONSISTANT apperance at MSG every year before the PR day parade. Floyd has trouble filling up seats in his fights too but he's still a draw!
I've got my money on Vyacheslav Senchenko. He's undefeated! Which means, of course, he's better than Manny Pacquiao.
Floyd only has "trouble" filling up seats because the ticket prices are higher than any other boxer on the planet. His gate with Marquez was larger than Pac/Clottey even though MGM was half empty compared to a 40k plus attendance at Cowboy stadium. Quite typical though for Pacquiao fans to alter facts to suit their agenda.
Shane is definitly a draw....But you make a good point...His PPVs are usually with a "dance partner" that has a decent name. Cotto's PPV's are usually the same...he has a good name to help build the fight....like in his fight with Paulie...Not a HUGE name but a decent one where the PPV#s did pretty well.
He has had great fights that the FIGHT was the draw but HE was NEVER a draw all alone. Shane is only as good as who you match him up with. FMJ, Pac, Cotto, etc... are guys who can bring out a crowd even facing nobodies. So even though the numbers may be similar even that comes out in Cotto's favor as Cotto's career arch was much shorter and peaked a lot lower than Shane's. Cotto's level of competition or general talent would suggest he couldn't/shouldn't hang with Shane on PPV numbers. If that is what it takes? So be it. Shane better get his game right and get out there on MLK day and/or Juneteenth.
I've never said PAC was "THE" PPV draw if talking about Floyd...but he's pretty much on level with him. Shane has a black American following but his following is more diversified. That's true! My reasoning is based on what's real homie. I gotta keep it 100! You shouldn't expcet anything less from your boy!:yep
I'm not talking just about the JMM fight bro....I'm talking about Floyd's ability to fill up seats throughout his career. Ever since DLH Floyd's been riding a wave he was eager to have come his way since the begining of his career. And he's made the most of it. And regardless of how much the ticket prices were the fact remains MOSt of PAC's fights sell out.
I'm just saying....Cotto has had a great team promoting and taking advantage of his background and story. Shane hasn't had that kind of team to support him in his career but did well regardless based on his following. He didn't get the BIG promoters who PUSHED his brand like Cotto had yet he was still able to put up comparable numbers in PPVs which was my point. Cotto is NOT that much bigger of a draw now than Shane. Slightly yes...but not by much. After Shanes fight with Marg, Shane's stock was higher!
I am shaking my head at you being a Mayweather fan, that is all, nothing with what you are saying, neither for, or against. :good (BTW I agree with alot of your ports :thumbsup) :hi:
If by "level" you mean tens of millions of dollars behind. :yep I agree and say Shane's fan base is a lot more diverse. Unfortunately/Fortunately, Shane's boxing style is a CA hybrid style. More of a twist on the CA Mexican school of boxing but using more straight shots, speed, and a high work rate. Problem with your argument about him being a draw is that Shane NEEDS a good opponent ALWAYS. Other guys didn't/don't. No matter what anyone says man, Charlie rides for his! :good
