Lewis Even though he was old I think Lewis would try to bomb out Bowe like he did to Golota Grant Ruddock etc Bowe would be gone in 2 rounds Bowe was taylor made for Lewis's fast starts, and Lewis could dothem at age of his career. It's no coincidencethat the year after Lewis retired Bowe made a comeback
So what if he avoided punchers? That doesn't mean he has a bad chin. Forget the olympics. Lewis also got outpointed by biggs. he knocked biggs out afterwards in the pros. you're just a bowe hater. he may not have faced the best competition ever but he proved what he was made out of when he beat Holyfield, who certainly hit him very very hard. Also keep in mind that Holyfield was pretty much a better fighter then Morrison, rudduck, and lewis, overall.. So your arguement is bull**** :good
:happy:happy:happy:happy Holyfield was a better P4P fighter than Lewis, but not a better heavyweight, that's the only thing I can disagree with about that. The fact remains though that Bowe would **** VITLAY up, big time.
The facts are Vitali and Bowe faced the same guys. Bowe looked poor vs Donald while taking him the distance, and took a while to put away Hide. Vitali looked much better vs. Donald and finished him, who was in shape for the match, and easily dispatched Hide. I could say Donald and Hide lacked some world class experience when they meet Bowe, just like you could say Donald was 35. No matter, Donald had plenty left, and proved it later on by doing better vs. Valuev than Ruiz did. Donald was robbed. Do you really think Vitali would have trouble with Andrew Golota? Bowe was 29 for this fight by the way, and even in better shape for the re-match.
Bowe was washed up when he fought Golota both times.and everyone knows it, even you. Jake Lamotta ,and Paul Pender, faced the same guy in Ray Robinson ,was he the same Fighter ? Both Donald and Hide were ambitious, unbeaten fighters when Bowe beat them, they were defeated and more realistic about their aspirations when Vitali faced them ,35 year old Donald was a glorified journeyman at that stage of his career. "Donald had plenty left"? After losing to Vitali , Donald won just 3 of his last 6 fights before retiring . Hide was the reigning WBO champion and was 26-0-0 , when he faced Bowe
Actually Donald was more ambitious toward the end of his career. Fighters who need money can act this way. Hide was still very much in his prime, with more experience and confidence when he meet Vitali. If Bowe was indeed shot at age 29, it just goes to show he wasn't built to withstand a punishment, which is exactly what Vitali is going to give him.
Not true, it just proved Bowe like most fighters was not able to lose 60 pounds between fights and still maintain his fitness and stamina. Bowes problem was he was lazy and didnt stay in shape, and when you drop that kind of weight in training camp your making your body very weak. Look at Lennox Lewis, for the most part he was a consummate pro, kept himself in top shape. One fight he didnt take seriously and he got flattened by the same level of fighter. Bowe was getting away with that kind of crap every fight after he won the title. Bowe was not interested in staying in shape between fights and it takes some dedication because they go from fighting every three months, where they dont have a lot of down time when they are making a run for the title shot, to fighting twice a year, three times tops, so they have a lot of down time between fights. Ultimately it was Bowe's fault, but it doesnt change the fact that he was a superior fighter to Klitschko who is quite the opposite. He makes up for his lack of talent by staying in supreme shape year round.
No Donald had easier fights at the end of his career. Hide could never have more confidence after getting knocked down eight times and crying like a baby on Showtime.
Miroshnichenko who weighed 205lbs dropped Bowe 2x, both with body shots. Yet prior to the fight he said he'd eat both brothers for breakfast and was looking ahead and planning future fights with Roy Jones and a possible rematch with Tyson saying he had plenty left. Then after the Vitali fight.....
Two excellent consecutive posts from you that say it all, but Mendoza has an agenda where the Klits are concerned, that burns as brightly as an acetylene torch, only surpassed by his worship of Jim Jeffries. He would put a positive spin on either Klit defending their titles, even if they were matched with Bowe today. "Well he is a one - time linear champion, and he is looking very sharp in the kitchen, [I mean gym], ".ect.
A morbidly obese, inactive 43 year old Bowe who has been shot since ending his brutal trilogy with Holy 15 years ago, would make a great addition to Vitali's resume, right up there with fearsome opponents such as Albert "The Dragon" Sosnowski!
