Bowe probably thought Golota was just going to be a stay-busy fight. I remember in the second fight Lampley saying something like Bowe's mother warned Riddick not to fight Golota again.

Futch left because Bowe insisted on fighting Golota again, which was against his advice. Bowe's own mother told him the same thing.

He fought so hard against Golota. That version of Bowe would give the K2 something to think about.

Those were epic fights. Golota seemed to have Bowe's number. It's a good thing Bowe never fought Lewis. I had to throw that in there for Bowe ducking Lewis.

Those fights were crazy and surreal. It seemed like a bad time for boxing because it was drawing so much negative press during that time.

I have to mention that I always felt bad for poor Lou Duva when he was carried out during the riot and was almost dropped on his face.

Riddick Bowe of '92 takes Lewis to hell and back. Believe that.

It was openly admitted that Bowe was in the best shape of his life in the 2nd Golota fight.

Bowe was good, even against Golota he did good. I'm not sure Lewis would have been able to get as rough as Bowe.

It was openly admitted that Ali was in great shape for his fight with Larry Holmes.

He was shot against Golota. Operating on will power and determination alone, bless him.

Shot before 30? I doubt it. He fought well if you watch the fights but still he was outclassed.

It was also openly admitted that Ali was in a wheelchair against Holmes.

Bowe was not shot before Golota, but was shot after Golota!

He was completely done by the time of the second fight. :-((

Well, not completely done, he just didn't have his punch resistance or the capacity to throw straight shots anymore. What a heart, though.

Bowe never recovered from that shot Holyfield gave him in their 3rd fight...That's the way concussions work...

In the second fight Golota hit Bowe low every time Bowe started getting any momentum...Bowe took a beating but, he beat the living crap out of Golota too...I don't know how either guy took so much...
