He said that they had a verbal agreement and with Kessler only. At least that's how I heard it.

Yers, it is verbal only and probably complete bull****.

Btw. where did you read that he will give up the belt? I havent seen that reported anywhere.

Kessler should just retire, hes made enough money and doesnt need to permanently damaged himself for life like Calvin Brock did.

You know what, since the two top on WBC are Froch and Dirrel, maybe they make a deal with Kessler like: " you drop the belt so it stayed in the tournament and then we give you a shot with the winner".

    It's a win/win deal in my view.

Well, certainly not win for Kessler. He will go from being the champ with hometown advantage to being the challenger having to fight away. Makes all the difference in the world.

Well, he needs to heal his injury so he needs time, maybe he would not have kept his belt because of it anyway and he is assured to have a shot at the winner... So instead of having to fight vs Green, then semi final, then final, he just need to heal and then take the winner, I think it's pretty good for him.

Nah, Green would have been easy. He would have a good chance at neutral or home advantage in semi and final.

Now instead he gets a pretty muich impossible fight in the Super Six winners home town. (Plus if the winner doesnt want the fight anyway he can just claim that "Kessler priced himself out" or something like that).

Well you certainly could be right. And I'm not saying that Kessler is better off the tourney than in, but in his situation I could understand he made such a deal, if indeed their was a deal in the first place.
