We've got the full movie package on top of this and pay about £90 p/m. That's with HD and V+. Am I getting stung? (HD not on the sports or movies channels, just the other channels)
It would cost me another £7 per month for the movies > £70. Not sure what the breakdown of the HD and V+ cost is because I don't have them but have a feeling it's £5 more per month for V+ and about £10 for HD? If so not much difference in what we pay.
Yeah, that is true. I refuse to pay Sky an extra tenner per month for HD - they should be throwing that in with the subscription. You can get a HD box - one off payment in Argos, Currys etc - and that gets you a whole bunch of freeview channels on HD plus the likes of BBC 1, 2, 3 4 etc - but there is limited live sports on those channels and HD really works best with live sports.....
Do that same old trick threaten to leave or get a quote from a rival provider and they will start lowering your monthly payments
I'm on Virgin and we got the HD package. Virgin only got the HD movies and sports channels from Sky recently. I cant watch them. I'm guessing that if I ring them at some point and moan that they are not providing them then I could probably get them to add the sports and movies to my HD package. I didnt chose not to have them, I just havent chose to have them yet.
This makes sense. I've just thought on too, we have two boxes and I'm sure it's an extra tenner a month for the second box. Nice one, makes me feel better!
Mine is £65 a month for phone, internet, HD and all packages except movies. Not cheap but f*ck it, has to be done!
