ottke beat him fair and square. made johnson look very amateurish at times.

Johnson claims he's been robbed many times and people just seem to take him on his wrod... but if you ever saw any of his fights while he was dwindling in obscurity as a journeyman, you'd see that he was a very passive fighter who only did enough to lose fights competitively. Seems to me like Glencoffe is just one of those guys who denies defeat no mater how blatanly ovbvious it is to others who watch his fights from the outside.

^^So you really can't blame Johnson for saying he mostly gets robbed cause all the close fights except the first fight with Tarver is Johnson always get a short end of the stick.

Yeah I dont know if the fights mentioned were flat out robberies. He's been in a lot of close fights and he's just never the favorite. Unfortunatley that has an affect on the judges.

While I wouldnt say he's a top tier fighter neccisarily, he always comes in and fights his ass off. Win or lose you know its gonna be a good fight. He's a workhorse, and one of my favorite active fighters.

I saw the Merqui Sosa fight live in a Chicago suburb in 1997 and Johnson won that fight easy. Ottke was close and I thought GJ should have gotten that nod as well 116-112. He flat out beat Branco, Sheika, Daniel Judah I, and Gonzalez. To be honest I thought Tarver won both fights, Dawson won both and Cloud deserved the most recent of Johnson's "robberies".

Should he have 14 losses? NO WAY. But he is a 8-9 loss fighter, with some big wins in there as well. He fought everyone and is a true throwback. 10 or 20 losses did nothing to hurt your status in the 1950's, when everybody fought everybody in the top 10, and GJ never takes a "gimme" fight.

from what i am hearing now, he still deserves 10+ losses.

the fights you mentioned, he got a victory a draw and a loss vs woods, thhat is fair considering the fights they had. against tarver he should have lost twice. against dawson he should have lost twice, and against cloud he also should have lost.

i have not yet seen a robbery of his. from what i hear, branco and now seemingly gonzalez could have gone the other way

Alot of the stories of Johnson being robbed are exagerated to suit peoples arguements.
He lost to Ottke but because its Sven Ottke alot of people claim it was a robbery... It wasnt

    Actually, I'm a Johnson fan.

So, what was your scorecard for Johnson-Dawson 1 then???

I'm calling you on it. No emoticons, no ancient regurgitated General Forum bitchtalk - produce your card.

I don't think you will be able to because you're a ***** who doesn't watch fights and prefers to sit wanking at your computer while you ***** about real boxing posters.

lol classic change of strategy :lol::lol:

fragile popkins PWNED in front of a global audience on one of his favourite fighters so changes subject to avoid further embarassment :rofl

    HEADBANGER 13-0 FRAGILE POPKINS :deal

i've watched dawson v johnson 1 once (not long after it happenned) and i thought johnson edged a close fight.

do you think i write the scorecards down for a fight and put them in a book somewhere so i can just write it down when a muppet requests or are you expecting me to spend the next 36mins watching the fight again just so i can put a scorecard up to please you?
