Its a double edged sword tho ... sure he could've fought a more established welterweight ... or but there was more to it than just fighting marquez .. he wanted to show how easy it was to him to handle a guy pac struggled with ... and he was necognized the 2nd best fighter in the world .. pac was supposed to be next right .. so if he beats both then he beats the top 2 fighters in the sport after a brief retirement

Yeah......... I SAID SAME WEIGHT CLASS:nut. Pac had just moved up in weight. first fight at 147.

But that's understandable .... he was to dlh what marquez was to floyd ... a great fighter 2 division above a his division in which he only had 1 fight in ... difference being pac won ... imagine if dhl would have won ... then they would've just bashed dhl ... they were bashing dhl going into the fight and when pac won everyone was like wow ... pac was an underdog because anyone who makes a jump like that in any division is expected to lose ... the lower the weight the higher the expectation of the lighter guy losing to a heavier guy

A lot of guys called out Mayweather. JMM got the fight because:

    1. He was seen as a top P4P fighter (even though NOT in Mayweather's weight class).

    2. It was a very safe fight for Mayweather.

    3. Easy to market to the suckers as some Top P4P fighter against another.

One thing to note, it was Mayweather's insistane that no one, not even JMM or his team, was NOT allowed to discuss the weight at this fight. For obvious reasons now. But there was a good reason the weight was so ambiguous ("IT's a WW fight..." - Ellerbe).

If they advertised it truthfully, it would have sold a lot less.

I think Floyd should have eased up on Mosley. That way people wouldnt have the excuse that Mosley was old. Should have made it look like Mosley was in the fight for atleast 4-5 rounds before dominating him.

True but he should have let it seem like Mosley was in the fight atleast.

That is the dumbest **** I have heard today. No surprise it came from you.... :patsch

Allowing Shane some confidence and comfort would be the worst thing he could do. If anything, Floyd shoulda tried to KO him at some point. Shane had nothing. Dead man walking....
