Maybe the thorough domination and ass whipping he got from the opening bell did. If was headbutts, why did he lose the 1st 7 rounds without being butted?? end thread

although Ward is not entirely to blame for the injury which has already stated as being a long term injury, getting butted at the source of the injury is only going to inflame it and make it worse. Now that Kessler has been forced to take time out from fighting (time out which could prove permanent) it is only natural for people to turn there attention to a filthy (although talented) fighter like Ward who butted Kessler into retirement in they're bout due to injuries substained to his eyes.

Oh. I did see both fights and they are not to be compared. **** the level on ESB is getting weak nowadays.

He's a respectful guy. Smart, intelligent, well spoken, family man with a fighters history.

His "holding" is no different then Hopkins for most of his career. He seeks to get inside and outwork you. Alot of the clinches are initiated by the other fighter because he cant handle Ward inside. Comparing him to Ruiz or Hatton is false. Ward is constantly busy. Even Hopkins is a stretch since Hopkins is largely inactive in the clinch except to gain position, Ward is constantly throwing punches. Average fighters cant handle it.

There was nothing cheating about what happened in either the Kessler or Green fights. In fighting is part of the game, and clinching has been around since Gene Tunney whipped Jack Dempsey.

You are right I might be a hater (not hate but dislike). But at least my reasons are purely based on boxing. I bet if you look at my post, you'll probably find that I said Kessler was overrated and thought Ward was gonna beat him.

Look around. I've just been watching Ward, and I don't like his style and he's definitely dirty.

Is Bernard not dirty? It's a fact he is. I just don't like people who use excuses. If you like a dirty fighter at least admit he's dirty, don't say "it's technique or smarts" or bs like that. Anybody can be dirty.

Get it through your head. I never ever said Kessler would have won without the HBs or was I ever a Kessler fan. You can search my posts if you want.

You however, "hate" based on nationality. Why would I favor Europeans anyway? I've been living in the US for half of my life and was not born in Europe. :patsch While you have Michigan Warrior in your name and shown extreme bias for it's fighters and hate European fighters.

    Stupid.

He was headbutted 5 times - 4 of them before the seventh round.

Watch the fight dude. And then come back.

The only noncomparison you could make is that at the time of the headbutt Dawson actually looked like he had a chance of winning. From the opening moments it was clear Kessler was outclassed and had no chance.

I remember one before the 7th. It was in the forth. It was mostly Kesslers fault that one. And one in the 9th, the only really damaging one of the fight, when the fight was already decided.

I remember maybe 2 headbutts the entire night of any note whatsoever.

There is nothing dirty about his style. He's an infighter. Get used to it. This is boxing not ballet.

Most of my hate is directed at European fans and their bias for their fighters and constant excuses whenever one of their fighters loses, rather then the fighters themselves. I quite like a few European fighters.

I seriously believe that he cheated in the Kessler fight. Listen. Kessler had three serious cuts in that fight. ALL of them was because of headbutts.

Ward is very good at infighting - agreed. But my biggest problem with him is that he is a spoiler and the fact that he leads with his head.

Again - look at Dirrell. He is a pure talent and boxes the ears of his opponents (Froch). Ward kills the game and his opponent by headbutting and hugging.

Then you really need to watch the fight again. Sorry, I respect you - but that statement is no good.

Kessler lokked like **** and Dawson didnt have an answer to Pacals strategy.

But Ward did hit Kessler with headbutts from round one. And I can prove it if you have the full fight.

That doesn't mean those butts were intentional though, they occurred during the process of infighting and i did not see Ward once throw it as an offensive blow. I saw him using his head to position and pin on kessler and green's chest. I did not see him purposefully headslam another fighter.
