those are some bull**** reasons, so far the fights have been exciting
Dirrell-Abraham and Froch- Kessler being the best.
in regards to the cheating stop being a little girl
but I do agree with you 100% JT had no place being in there. he needed to take a break and had no reason to commit himself to so many fights. judge the super 6 this way: Has it been exciting so far? yes very much so
Have you enjoyed fight camp 360: Of course sunny
and to say that Bute is the only real fighter in the division just shows how stupid you are

ive liked it, so far weve seen froch and kessler face off, plus seen two prospects emerge into top level fighters. weve seen some good fights and i dont see the problem.

who doesnt wanna see froch vs AA or dirrell vs ward? who doesnt wanna see the winners face off, and then fight kessler and bute.

take froch for example, his next 4 fights could well be AA, Dirrell, Kessler, Bute. how that is bad for boxing i really dunno

I'm a fan of Bute but I admit he hasn't done enough to declare himself the best of the division. People expect him to be in the future but that's just them seeing his potential, not them seeing what's happening right now. I believe he has the tools to be the best at 168 but he needs to use them and show it.

i dont see how anyone can claim to be the best until they fight each other. i.e. the top 3 now are

    ward
    bute
    kessler

with froch and dirrell not far behind.

noone has a claim until they fight but, likewise with him, he got no claim till he fights s6 winner.

Ward, Dirrell and maybe even Abraham and Froch beat Bute. He's sheltered.

the thread starter does make some valid points. My hugest problem with it, is it has take n far too long complete.

I know everyone is going to say "well it would have taken this long outside of a tournament anyways."

But the fact is, it's a tournament and should be handled a bit differently than the average fight schedule.

I mean by the time this is all over some of these guys might be past their primes or in another weight division.

I give showtime props for bringing something fresh, and there has been some great fights. But overall, it is too dragged out.

The idea to bring together most of the best fighters at 168lbs was awesome, considering the amount of fights fans wanna see, that often never end up being made for all kinds of reasons...

The main problem with the Super 6 is its length.

3 round robin matches + semis + final = 5 total rounds = way too many possible problems !

THAT'S TOO MUCH FOR A SPORT LIKE BOXING THAT HAS TOO MANY INTANGIBLES TO CONSIDER !!

If the idea is brought up again, it needs to be no more than 3 rounds, with possibly 8 fighters from the start. If it would have been made like that right away, Bute would obviously been in there.

Quarter finals...followed by semis...and then the final.

All of it could realistically end within 15 months ! Imagine...we'd be waiting on the final at the moment !!

    Are you serious?

These are literally top tier fighters in skill. Some of them are top level in name also. This is an almost unprecedented regular meeting of this level of fighter for the modern era. The competitiveness alone makes their meeting this often insane.

If anything the argument can be made that this is TOO MUCH wear and tear on great fighters. This is why they are dropping out.

having the best six in any weight fight each other isn't a fail, the trouble starts when fighters back out leaving who would win up for debate...

How can anyone with a rightful mind say that the Super Six has been a failure. The super six did what we fans have always hoped to happen, put the best against the best.

Exactly. If anything it has bee TOO effective not letting the fighters rest. These are seriously competitive great fights.
