Did Hopkins beat Calzaghe?

i hate calzaghe with the fire of a thousand suns....and i scored it for him by a point, 7 rounds to 5. hopkins did WAY more in his 5 rounds but he only won 5 rounds on my card

I had Hopkins by a point at the time, but a prominent Classic poster (imo one of the top three posters on ESB) recently told me he had it to B-Hop by 5 points, so I'm going to rewatch it again shortly (haven't given it a second glance since '08 as it was such a dire contest).

I can't I mean just can't muster the willpower to do that. I was turning away some of the time it was that bad to watch. Don't know how you can rewatch that fight man.

 

Everytime I watch it(I have no idea why I watched it more than once) the score varies but I think Hopkins just about won it.

 

it's also a styles fight...hopkins obviously landed cleaner but less often. did calzaghes ineffective flurries outweigh hopkins occasionally straight shots and then loooooooooong pauses?

That's what makes it hard to score I suppose.

 

Watched it a few times and no ****ing way did Slappy win that fight....either 115-112 Hopkins or 114-113 being generous. Couldn't believe the result at the time, Hopkins bossed it.

 

if hopkins was a little more active, he wins by a mile. but there were numerous times where he wouldn't throw a single punch for 30 seconds or more. hard to score him just looking angry
