The point is that the Klits declined to fight James Toney countless times. They preferred guys like Hasim Rahman (whom Toney made quit in the second fight) and Sosnowksi.

If you know anything about Toney is that he is fearless and has never ducked anybody.

Yes, indeed I remember Wlad making an offer for 1.5. million.(not great money exactly) ONE TIME, mainly because HBO was pushing for it.The Toney camp was not happy with the terms and had other viable options as Toney was number one at the WBA. So he went on to face Ruiz and would have been in a better position to negotiate, had he he won that fight.

Half decent fight, but im thinking would Toney not need a good long rest before coming back in October to fight??

I remember Vitali declining match with Toney early this year.

Despite that K2 camp first said Toney will be replacement if Valuev match won’t happen.

Valuev fight didn’t happen and Vitali backed down for proposed Toney fight, to fight Sosnowbum instead

Is he going to be in the mood to put in a camp to box in October if he gets his neck cranked this weekend? :think

Anyway, Toney vs. Tua sounds incredibly boring (and that comes from a fan of both).

There will not be a knockdown, there will not be any drama, and there will be no more than twenty punches thrown per round between the two of them.

Sounds like he's not taking the "One fight at a time approach" :think I don't think that's a good sign for Toney :-(

Maybe he meant the other way around, with Tua's recent vulnerability as shown by Barrett? :think

The problem there is that Toney isn't really a HW puncher.

This fight will most likely not come off.

Tua is in talks to face Holyfield in November
