Prince Naz vs Erik Morales

Interesting point of view considering when hamed lost after FINALLY fighting an elite at 27,he had one more fight at 28 and left the sport.

Well what's your point? If you read my first post in the thread-I said that the fight wouldn't have happened in the first place until he was on the decline. Frank Warren would never let him anywhere near Morales and never would have let him anywhere near Barrera for that matter.
I also said he would have lost no matter what.

I'm just saying you have to take that into account when you consider how people regard him "No love" you said, well nobody likes him so they're always going to lean toward the negative. Remember that this is the general board.

 

morales is lanky iron chinned and was expereinced enough to know what to do. naz would win some rounds but i think morales uses his workrate and no bull**** attitude to run hamed over in the later rounds. it's a worse match up for naz than it is morales basicly.

some of you are thinking he would get crushed but naz can defintly go to war with the best of them...not to great effect in comparison to erik but still. naz was the business

good match up it was a big possability at the time as well.

Naz had a whole ton of talent, and could have beat some of the elite, but never did.

Barrera and Morales went life and death 4 times, and Morales obviously was on the same elite level that Naz could not compete in.

Morales, wide UD.

 

Being realistic as much as I love to watch past fighter of both fighters I'd have to go Morales on points.

 

Morales was always a fighter I admired and Naz was one that I disliked. If this fight had of happend I would have wanted Morales to win, but in truth I always felt Morales avoided Naz and never wanted to call Naz out.
With the way Morales trades and seeing how easy it was for McCullough to land cleanly on him, I have a feeling Naz would have ended up catching Morales and stopping him.
Overall Morales is a better fighter but I think prime Naz would have got him out of there

i loved naz (even though he was a knob) his exciting style first sparked my intersest in boxing , even though he failed to bring it when he met the elite of the sport i still feel for the time he shone he brought alot to boxing and is still one of the most exciting fighters i've seen . but i agree with the majority . he would of lost at best a ud to morales .

 

haha he was a knob but i loved him too, morales ud for me, definately not brutal knockout naz had an excellent chin.

 

Morales by a wide UD, but could possibly TKO Naz in the late rounds. Morales had great timing and balance, not to mention had a good chin. Naz had terrible balance jumping and bouncing all over the place throwing his unorthadox shots. Hamed would get worked over worse than Barrera did him.

 

I tend to think Erik Morales would outbox Naseem Hamed for large portions, but suffer more rough moments than his buddy Marco did. He wasn't as disciplined, but Erik was still a far superior fighter to Naseem, and that would show at the end of the 12 rounds. Both have great chins, Erik could conceivably go down but he'd get back up, and Hamed was accustomed to suffering 10 counts as a result of his poor balance.

Fun fight, but with a clear winner.
