Prime Tyson never 'fell apart'...Douglas put a beating on an under-trained Tyson and Tyson knocked his ass down with his eyes swollen shut...Tyson got out of prison a beaten man...Don't kid yourself he was mentally weak...Watch his fights against Ruddock, Toney Tucker, Bruno 1, etc...

But I do agree, if Frasier's style beat prime Ali, Tyson may have knocked Ali the F out...Let's see, trouble with a good left hook (see Cooper & Frasier)...Hmmm...And Tyson was lightning fast....

what a great fight that would be!

i think tyson in his absolute prime could ko him like foreman did, but it would probably go the distance in a fight that could go either way.

Tyson beats Frazier with ease... inside 6 rounds. Tyson started very quickly while Joe was often slow out of the blocks. As others have said, if Joe survived the first six rounds the second half of the fight would be very interesting. But I think that scenario is very unlikely. Tyson KO4 Frazier.

Tyson is one of my favorite fighters. I don't get your point though. Do you seriously think Ruddock, Bruno, etc. can hold a candle to the class Frasier fought at? Also Mike ran through those guys. He ran through almost every fighter he beat. I just don't think he would overwhelm Frasier the same way.

Frazier, had a devastating left hook, but Tyson had quicker hands and a devastating uppercut. If the fight goes past 5 rounds I have to favor Frazier but I believe Tyson will catch Frazier early and stop him in 4-5 rounds.

Guys that took his punch and punched back, adversity...Some look at the Holyfield fights and those after to claim he had no heart...My point was, prime Tyson had alot of heart...

As far as Frazier goes, uppercuts killed him and Tyson had the fastest and hardest I've seen...Frazier took too many shots to handle the biggest punchers...Tyson was faster than Foreman...

Can't believe this went this long. People, it was easy to see that mike tyson was the perfect version of joe frazier. He completely perfected that style and both of his hands were stronger and faster than fraziers left as well as having more punches in his arsenal. His footwork was better and quicker which made his bobbing and weaving his way inside was slightly better. Both had great chins. If Mike had Joe Fraziers focus and sense, he would have been contending for greated of all time. Mike was just an evolved form of frazier who was obviously influenced by frazier's style of getting in close to the taller fighters. Mike just did it better do to his feet being faster. He would dispact joe fraizer something like forman did.

I love the Tyson as a fighter and I don't think he is heartless. I just don't put his mental makeup in the same class as Frasier. You need to put a killing on Frasier for him to quit and he wouldn't be intimidated by a 20 year old even if he is built like a tank or has the last name Clay. Foreman never beat a single fighter because he was fast.

I agree with everything you say in your post but, not being afraid to stand in front of a prime Tyson and take his punches is exactly why he would be ko'd...He couldn't or wouldn't get out of the way of Foreman's punches, who you point out as being less than fast, what makes you think he would stand up to Tyson's bombs coming at him faster and in greater quantities?

I slightly favour prime Tyson vs prime Frazier, but if it goes beyond round 5 then Joe becomes heavy favourite IMO.

Tyson explosively and by the midpoint in the fight.
Tyson fully fit and charged up, was as good as anyone ever, and could have beaten anyone.

Smaller, swarming fighter won't ever beat Tyson. That's a sure way to commit suicide.
