    to be the "real" belt?

    ________

Championship vacancies can be filled by winning a box-off between The Ring's number-one and number-two contenders, or, in certain instances, a box-off between our number-one and number-three contenders.

The only three occasions when a fighter will lose his championship status are when he retires, moves to another weight division, or is defeated in a championship bout.

    No fees.

It's not perfect since the fighter holding it can fight bums for the rest of his career and still can be considered The Ring Magazine champion. But hey it's better than the WBA's interim, regular, super, and etc. champions and WBC's diamond belt bull****. Plus the fighters currently holding the belt in their respective (Calderon, Pongsaklek Wonjongkam, JMM, Martinez, Pascal, and Wlad) are widely considered number 1 of their division.

It's the best title to have because it means you beat the best.

thats a good thing not like the orgs just handing bums belts or making like 3 titles at one weight like the WBA or passing around a silver belt and interims

Its the perfect belt providing the holder is willing to the top contender the vast majority of the time.

If this happens it is what all fans have been crying out for. One belt that shows the true world champion.

I'll put it this way...When they crown a champion, 99% of the time, it's the guy I consider THE champion. But, I often think there's a champion, when their title is vacant. Like to me, Darchinyan was very clearly super flyweight champion, but no Ring champion.

I know. But still, you look at the weight classes. There are only like 5 ring champions.

honestly, i can't think of one time that the ring belt holder hasn't been guilted or pressured into defending. they do strip the belt on occasion

ummm, whats the difference with the WBA, WBC, WBO, or IBF? Just another organization who endorses a titleshot based on their own subjective viewpoint.

Feel The Ring will represent your "voice" or "opinion" better than the other organizations, or more accurate? They are, as long as you believe it. But once its not in agreement with your own viewpoint, they'll lose validity to you just as the other organizations.

    Just keepin it real...

It is a Magazine owned by a boxer(ODLH correct?)

Plus--they will ALWAYS be tainted in my eyes with the rankings rigging with Don King from years ago.

true, no getting over both accounts. but i personally (for some reason) get furious when someone claims the oscar ring is soooo corrupt and yet no one can give me one example. ever
