Lewis lost to Mccall and Rahman due to bad conditioning at the time. Vitali lost to Byrd and Lewis due to injury. Lewis avenged his 2 losses. Vitali didn't get the chance as Byrd did not want a rematch and Lewis did not want a rematch (he waited almost a year and retired), both Lewis's fights had a rematch clause. The question is, they both have 2 losses for different reasons, what is the difference between their losses and why?

Thx for your honest input :huh

Lewis lost because he was cocky and underestimated his opponents, Vitali lost due to injury (Byrd) and was forced to stop fighting Lewis by a doctor(no contest in my opinion). So, turns out Vitali has so far been more consistently professional than Lewis was.

I dont think its as simple as that. Vitali had a serious injury vs Byrd well he was well ahead of Byrd on the cards and was going to win if he could continue. Doctor stopped the fight vs Lewis with Vitali up 4 rds to 2 at the stoppage. Lewis got KO'd. That is the difference.

    Also, agree with you speck!

Uhh did you watch the fight? Vitali never quit against Lewis! I've actually never seen anybody look like him, and *STILL* continue to fight. I would not have been surprised if Lewis knocked all of his skin off in that fight, and Vitali was actually a real life Terminator.
He did quit in the Byrd fight. I think he should have continued (he could have won with only 1 arm honestly), but don't blame him for quitting.

I think Lewis' losses were much worse. He got KTFO! He did avenge them, and that's a testament in itself, but Vitali had a torn rotator cuff and had to quit, and the other loss the doctor made him quit (and he was F'ing mad about it!). Also, it's a testament that the two that beat Vitali WOULD NOT give him a rematch. Lewis' losses did because they didn't fear him. Vitali was winning in both fights, and happened to suffer injury.

Yesi did wath the fight for your information, he quit he gave the doctor that look as if to say get nme out of here, if you quit once you will do it again just like he dd with byrd, found the easy way out.

many fighters hae carried on with torn roatator cuffs and the likes and held it together win or lose.:|

Vitali lost against Lewis due to repeated punches to the face which opened a cut. This is known as a TKO loss not an injury where he retired:deal

Yes he did not retire in the Lewis fight. It is still a loss regardless, but it was due to the doctor telling the ref to stop the fight. I think Vitali wanted to continue in that fight. Mabye your missing the overall point of this thread.:huh

But I think Lennox fought the better opposition. His two losses on the other hand were against B opposition (if not worse).

Vitali lost legitimately on cuts, as many fighters have lost throughout the years. And quit against a feather-fisted blown-up cruiserweight. Lewis got caught pre-prime and primed but while overweight and under-prepared. Which he shouldn't have done on either occasion, although at least he avenged his losses.

forget about who they lost to and how - lets talk about who they beat. then you will see why one is an ATG and the other is not even the best boxer in his family.

vitali quit against byrd. And was comprehensively ****ed uppp by lewis. To the xtent that the doctor had to step in and save vitali.

Lewis was sparked out twice. Plain and simple. Hard to say which losses are worse. Probably lennox's. But resume and greatness wise lennox is streets ahead of vitali k
