Personally, i'd be dissapointed to see this happen. I've always been a Hopkins fan, but i would like for him to move on already. He's got nothing left to prove, his last fight was too ugly to be true, and it's time to make room for the new guys. Any fight between guys like Pascal, Dawson, Cloud, Bute and Ward would be more watchable and interesting than any fight Hopkins can put on right now.

And what if he beats Pascal? Than the lightheavyweight title is gonna be frozen for at least a year again, because BHop is not interested in ruling the division right now and defending the title against worthy young challengers, he's just about making some more good money against guys he knows he can beat but are still viable in the public's eyes like he did against Pavlik. Thoughts?

I understand people wanting Bhop to quit but at the end of the day we as fans enjoy his good fights and then when fighters get old or have one or two bad fights we order them to hang it up!

If he puts on another steller performance like Tarver, Pavlik, Winky Wright I would be really happy.

At the end of the day he has to provide for his family and do what he wants to do.

I'd love to see Bernard take out 1 more young gun and I think he can do it. Pascal isn't the type who will swarm all over him and get a points decision through out working him ala Calzaghe. Hopkins for sure will think he can win the fight, thats why he's taking it. Really hope he can win and I'm hopeful as I don't feel stamina will be the most important factor in the fight

I don't understand why people are so against this fight. The way I see it, we're going to get the chance to see another B-Hop masterclass.....why would any fan complain about that?

Amazing comment!!! I agree totally!!! The guy is old as dirt but he still competes at the highest level in boxing. I truely believe if hopkins beats Pascal it will be his biggest achievement! Not because Pascal is better then hops other opponent but its the time in which he fights Pascal. Hops is a old goone and beating the guy that just out worked Dawson is a thang of beauty! Not to mention the fact that Pascal is a big Light Heavy wit speed and in his physical prime. Do your thang Hopkins and i will be rooting for U to succeed in montreal!!!

Why not have it? If not this fight, both would most likely sit out the rest of 2010, and since it's a highly disappointing year, any solid match-up should get made.

Why would anyone pay for this? It encourages a guy that should be hanging up his gloves and another that could not beat Carl Froch. Be ****ed if i pay to see it.

We whine too much we need appreciate more, he has given us great fights in the past, I think he could pull it off again. Just imagine if he dominates Pascal the fans will go wild, I for one will not miss this.

Anyone who can defy father time like Bhop does deserves a shot!

Come on "X" one last time for us!

Arrrgh talk for yourself... Hopkins is a dirty and ugly fighter. Sure, he's effective, but damn, his fights are boring and ugly, clinching, punching while holding, going in with his head like a bull, elbows, low blows, punching on the breaks, etc... Might be effective, but it's ugly and boring as hell.

That said, should be a good test for Pascal. A very good test... Hopkins is as good for a picking as he'll ever be. If Pascal can't win vs Hopkins... Well... Let's not even think about that...
