Mayweather has fought guys who were either a little old or a little light or both. He has never fought a great guy like Leonard fought Hearns. Someone who there was a chance he could lose badly against and he wanted to take the chance and prove how great he was. Leonard did that. Hearns and Hagler and Duran did that. They all lost, but they all fought the best when there was a chance they could lose by knockout. Floyd does not do that and has not. Pacman has taken on challenges which could have turned out very bad for him and came out a winner. He doesn't have to prove anything else. Ray Leonard did not after 1982 either. Hagler was a bonus. But Mayweather has to prove more to be in the elite class he wants.
