Prime Sonny Liston vs Prime Rocky Marciano

With Rock conveniently retiring at 32 years old, had he been active just a few more years (which he should have i mean 6 title defences wtf?) he would have had to run into Liston who would have taken his head off IMO

 

Yeah, any idiot who says that Marciano is the best all time just because he was undefeated is way off . he only had 6 defenses and he got out before facing Patterson OR Liston. And him against a young Ali would have been a joke of a fight. I dare say that dempsey would have beat him since Dempsey beat guys waaaay bigger than himself.

 

Liston was a far better boxer,he was bigger an hit harder than anyone Rocky had faced.Marciano fought good guys who were around at the time but they all seem to be about the same size as him, La Starza from what ive read was a very good fighter but like Rocky he was not massive.Its not Marciano`s fault,thats just how it was.Had he met Liston he would imo have lost by stoppage or KO but he would have had a good go before the end came.

 

would be interesting. I don't see Marciano being intimidated by Liston. perhaps Liston would be frustrated if Marciano kept coming and coming. i wouldn't rule out the possibility of Liston quitting like he did against Ali.
