How do you guys train the neck? Ive been doing some simple resistance exercises with my arms, but I need more now. I dont want to buy a neck harness (rip-off), and the mike tyson thing of rolling it on the floor is too advanced for me. Suggestions?
I do neck bridges but I can't get the mobility in it that Tyson had, my neck isn't strong enough yet. An easy way to train the neck is isometric, all you need is a towel. You don't need weights attached to it, your arms can supply the resistance.
Yeah, they're not that hard. Just put a towel underneath your head for comfort and try. The movement Tyson had when doing bridges is hard though.
ever see floyd with that ridiculous leather helmet with the chains attached and the weight hanging as he lays on his belly outside the ring?...
I used to do it with the Leather Harness, but they kept snapping on me.......so i do Neck Bridges...."Only the Reverse Neck Bridge" which is the best exercise, and it also works allot of other muscles in your body, legs..back..and core. I just do it rolling back and forth, i don't do it like Mike Tyson.... Someone will have to get the video footage, of Mike Tyson doing his Neck Bridges. I think the front bridges is ****ing stupid.
I used to do them almost like tyson. Mostly i would be standing on my head with my body leaning against the wall and then move my head. My neck would probably snap if i tried to do it right now.
the front bridges offer the most practical strength and resistance against oncoming punches. You need both bridges to build a strong neck. wear a weighted vest if you need extra resistance.
You know good and well that little pencil neck you have isnt strong enough for neck bridges. I use a neck harness. Or sometimes i do shrugs. Got that Mike Tyson 19 inch neck goings on!
You'd be surprised. I can't move side to side like Tyson but a bridge I can do, and some back and forth movement as well. Not Tyson's range though.
