    I think Dana White would have been foolish to think that. I said before the fight that if Toney lost in this manner, all the MMA haters on this site would **** all over Couture's victory. And that is exactly what is happening.

    Yet a vast majority of us who actually know something about MMA realized Toney had a very slim chance and would get dominated handily on the ground.

    You can put Couture in against Toney in a boxing match next and James can beat him handily and you won't win over any boxing haters in the process either.

    This fight proved nothing, except that if an boxer is planning on coming over to MMA he's going to have to train longer at the ground game. But most of us already knew that.

    R1 – Couture with the takedown just seconds in, moves to mount immediately. Couture working punches from the mount as Toney holds on. Couture locks on a head and arm choke, but Toney appears okay. Couture moves to the side, locks up the head and arm choke again and Toney taps out.

    **** off, the real issue is that Toney needs a ref and a set of rules that eliminate 90% of what actual, real life fighting is.

    Without somebody forcing the other guy to only use a tiny bit of fighting, Toney is just as helpless as you would be.

    Any BJJ blue belt could have done a better job than Toney tonight.

    Without the fake agreement to only fight one way, rather than naturally, Toney is absolutely useless.

    From the heart... i have to say, and i cant stress this enough, a quite a few of you are going so overboard that it rivals being borderline ******ed. Look at your incompetent asses talking all big about this farce :lol: wow....

    So UFC got a guy who cant compete in his own sport anymore, 40lbs above his best weight, years and years away from any meaningful performance, no longer ranked or relevant in his own sport to the point that he cant even secure a FIGHT.... as a fall man to the 'hyped' 'boxing vs mma' event? and you fools bought it hook, line, and sinker.... anyone trying to proclaim this as anything other then what it is, a side show freak fight involving someone that shouldnt even be competing anymore, are beyond delusional.

    This **** had NOTHING to do with Boxing vs MMA (to anyone with any intelligence) it was ALWAYS a fat old shot man fighting an old great MMA fighter in his first fight, and not just an old, fat, shot boxer.... but one who lacks the common sense to take his mma training seriously.

    This fight is as big a joke as the people that take anything about it seriously.
