so much for the 3 fight deal Toney had supposedly signed. I guess there's always a clause in there that Dana sticks in that says "Unless you really suck".

Bad move by Toney? Not really, I heard he got 700K.

MMA better than boxing? I say no but many disagree these days. A washed up Ray Mercer did KO Tim Sylvia in 9 seconds. Butterbean was a joke as a boxer but has had some success in MMA.

He did...and for a good reason...Sylvia's gameplan was the opposite of Randy's...and he paid for it.

I still think elite boxers could do extremely well at MMA and beat plenty of the tops guys.

Toney was nowhere near a top boxer. I still thought he would win it until i saw this

Couture made it one boring fight.
it was like a quarter back playing a tennis match with say Pete Sampris and All pete does is shot aces. Boring
Coulture did fight smart , but he sucks

Toney might still be able to beat some fighters... Just not top tier... But why not keep him around and pit him against inexperienced MMA fighters? Fighters who are just starting out? It would be interesting, and that would be the way to actually go around to do things. Give Toney some experience, pits him vs MMA fighters, if he loses, no big deal, would still make for very entertaining and exciting fights imho. If he wins, well, let him go up the ladder and fight better and better fighters... See how high he can get.

It was dumb to put him against a great fighter in his first MMA match... Of course he's gonna lose... He's old.. Fat... Has never fought in MMA... He has pretty much no training in MMA... It was silly! And that actually reflects poorly on MMA/UFC, that one big mouth absolutely with no MMA experience can call out a top tier fighter and actually step in the ring with him like it was nothing...

Look at the James Toney on arm chicken's avatar... Did he look anything like the Toney in the pic above? Fat old Toney represents boxing? sigh...
