If Mayweather had a more crowd pleasing style, would he be adored as much as pac?

Think about it. I honestly believe a lot of people give praise to pacquiao due to his come forward crowd pleasing style. People rip on floyd for easily winning fights against guys like Baldomir, Marquez, mosley, gatti, but Pacquiao loses to Morales, has trouble with marquez twice yet hes regarded as a God of boxing.

No it has to do with his attitude and trash talking. He is hated because of his loudmouth and being cocky. Pernell Whitaker wasn't a KO puncher like pacquiao but he is like and respected by boxing fans.

He has haters, but he cheats them of their money in every single fight by winning by taking the least punishment possible. He definitely wouldn't be hated as much if he liked to use his face as defense like emmanuel dapidran.

But not everyone appreciates good boxing skill. To answer the topic: yes, probably.

Pac is a not just a more crowd pleasing fighter but also a better fighter. For comparison Gatti had an even more crowd pleasing style than Pacquiao but was never as popular as Pacquiao.

Also, Floyd is not as hated as people think. You look on internet forums about who are fans' favorite fighters and Floyd's name comes up very often. He has a boatload of nuthuggers and a pretty deep fanbase in the urban hip-hop crowd.

Bottom line I think if Floyd had a more crowd pleasing style he would be more adored but not as much as Pac because Pac is a better fighter.

On the other hand, if Floyd had a more crowd pleasing style he would not be as successful as he is today and therefore might have even less fans.

Cause fans might like a crowd pleasing style but first and foremost they like a winner.

Yes everyone like's KO's but it's mostly boxing fans that like technique.
That's what made tyson so popular, same as paquiao.

Floyd will never be as popular just because he doesnt always step up to the best challengers of the day. When MArgo, Cotto, Mosley were hot in 07. Where was Floyd?

Pac stepped up to 126 for his first fight is MAB. MAb is greater than any fighter Floyd has ever faced.

Right there is why Floyd wouldnt be loved as much, dont give a **** what his style was.

Oscar is better then MAB, so is Mosley. Beat better fighters too.

Oscar or Mosley wouldnt lose to fighters the caliber of Junior Jones. And dont even bring up shot as MOrales who beat him.

Mayweathers beaten 15 champions. Pacquiaos beaten 15 champions. Only difference is PAcquiao has lost twice and drawn twice in facing those 15.

Mab is better than Oscar and Shane p4p even in their primes.

Then you compound that with prime MAB vs. old DLH and very Old Shane. There is no contest. Prime JMM in the first fight is better than anyone Floyd has ever faced with prime years taken into account.

People may lie to themselves and think MAB was as good as Oscar and Mosley in their primes but he wasnt. neither Oscar nor Shane lose to Junior Jones. Nor Pacquiao who got his ass whipped by a shot Morales either.

MAB had arguably more wear and tear then DLH or MOsley from when Floyd fought them. MAB was shot at 30. So there is really no reason to compare ages.

I'd still take a faded Mosley and DLH over a prime version of MAB. Again Junior Jones.

Prime JMM? Well he was better then Pacquiao. Considering that Pac knocked him down 4 times and only got a split decision.

Considering that JMM fought a close fight with a shot Casamayor and a close fight with Juan Diaz. I'd take Castillo to beat him at 135. And a fight between him and Corrales at 130 to be up in the air.

Wow. You are delusional. Saying FMJ isn't popular in boxing is like saying McDonald's isn't popular in the restaurant business.

Sure you can list off fighters who have a better "product" (Pac), but at the end of the day the package sells and is therefore MORE POPULAR. If you want to quantify it? Look at the numbers.

So the question isn't "crowd pleasing" more than "casual fan pleasing". What Mayweather lacks in that arena he more than makes up for in outlandish fight marketing.
