His inactivity is actually healthy for him. Once a year fighting while still staying fit in between bouts, relaxing with other activities help his longevity, even if he isn't putting multiple victories on his resume.

In your 30's, you can either suffer from Ring tear, participating in too many fights and training camps over the years OR you can suffer from inactivity.

He isn't suffering from either. He had the active days while he was young, he slowed his fights per year in his late 20's to early 30's, and unlike other before him....is a all-year-around athlete.

While Roy was in shape all the time too, what happened to him was a consequence of solely depending on his youthful athleticism and when it slowed down a bit, he got caught and kept getting caught. Floyd has everything that a James Toney has got in terms of defense and counter-punching, and a good all-year around Athletic body on top of that.....unlike Toney.
