i met francois botha today....i asked him who hit harder tyson or lennox lewis...............HIS ANSWER WAS MIKE TYSON:smoke
i also asked francois if tyson didnt go to jail.......in 91 and holy and tyson fought at that time..who wins....he said his money was on tyson........francois was a kool cat.....met him at a restuarant....
the power generated in such a shot distance from tyson has to be commended,if someone can post a holyfield punch thown in the same distance doing as much damage,we can all see for ourselves. And lennox has no where near the same pnd for pound power per square inch as tyson in the punch department.
Thanks anut....I always feel Tyson's power gets underrated by revisionists in the media who don't like him (especially Al Bernstien)...'Decent power' is not how I remember Tyson... Botha was always a class act too...
botha would obviously say mike, one punch from mike kept botha down for ten and 4 of lewis's and botha was up at the count of 8
Its really no contest in terms of power. The ability Mike had to transfer every last ounce of his body weight to his fists was uncanny. When you saw Mike duckin, and dipping inside of a long jab you knew Mikes opponent would soon be destroyed.
Larry Holmes and others said that whilst Tyson was a big puncher other guys hit harder!! Tysons often looked more devastaing because he would often stun a guy with a bomb but immediately after he would launch devastaingly fast combos that looked awesome. Look at the Pinklon Thomas KO for example. Rarely did Tyson bomb guys out with 1 shot like he did with Botha. He would stun them then swarm them and the swarming was were they were finished off good and proper.
