Frazier. It was a fight that he dominated from beginning to end, and established him as a force. He wouldn't be what he is now without the Frazier win.
Foreman was getting his ass kicked by Moorer. It wasnt even a competitive fight. Moorer was a bonehead who handed Foreman the title on a silver platter. I dont know how that could even be comparable.
Frazier by a long shot for me. His win over Frazier is what cements him a permanent spot in everyone's top 10, IMO
those were my first thoughts. along with "the one where he blew away and atg or the one where he was losing to an afterthought champ?"...
Foreman wins over Moorer was great because he proved that you can do anithing you want if you are having believe in yourself.Win over Frazier was great because Frazier was fearles fighter, strong, brutal, powerfull and Foreman destroyed him.
I never thought much of Moorer but it was still a great win for George. Frazier was past his best but that was an electrifying win for Big George at the time. The age factor makes the Moorer fight a great win but the win over Frazier was for the real title.
I agree it was an amazing win, but Frazier was not in his prime in 1973. After FOTC in 1971, Frazier was never the same physically or mentally again. He balooned up to a hefty 215lb, lost his spark in training, and looked very unspectacular in his 1972 title defenses. He may have been young in age in 1973, but that was not the same Joe Frazier of 1967-1971.
