Wow, Briggs is a clown. They both look like retired hitman. A month and a half before the fight and I see no indication of Briggs getting into shape. Another joke of a fight by Viatly. The heavyweight boxing bar has been lowered yet again...
Well, at least Vitali's fighting a heavyweight people know. The last oppenent he fought was a complete joke. The last deserving heavyweight he fought was Arreola. Briggs might not have stamina, but he does have a punch. I see this fight looking alot like Sanders/Vitali. Briggs will catch him early, and if Vitali still has that good chin. The fight should be over around 7th or 8th round.
I dont think they are looking old.Briggs is the most powerfull fighter today. And his problem is stamina but not because he is old,he has asthma and i have asthma and believe me that is very dificult for fighter.Vitali is always in great shape and i think he has if he can stay motivated two good years in boxing. He is the best heavyweight today and i think he will win because of much better stamina and great chin. But who knows Briggs have that one powerfull punch. Two or three years ago Emanuel Stewart said that the most dangerous oponent for Wladimir Klitschko is Shanon Briggs.Vitali has better chin than his brother but you never knows;look at Tua last fight vs Barett.Everybody can be knocked down.
The truth is that know one except the people involved know the specifics of the contract. What we do know, however, is that the Klitschko pay their opponents quite well. Wlad offered Povetikin over 2 million for their fight and Vitali offered Valuev 2.5 and then 1.5 million. By comparsion, Haye paid John Ruiz just 800,000. The reason for this is simple, he fights in smaller arenas and he refuses to split the Skybox pay per view revenues with his opponents. That is the main reason why the Klitschko negotiations failed.
The worst thing about Vitali's recent string of unworthy opponents, aside from the bouts of course, is that it gives David Haye justification for taking on weak opponents like Audley. Shamefully, Wlad is the only beltholder who is actually comporting himself like a champion.
No i am not fun of Shanon Briggs.I felt terible when he won fight with George Foreman because 48 years old George Foreman was robbed. But he is very dangerous oponent.
Another boxing site has photos of the press conference and in the last picture it appears that Briggs has lost some weight and he looks to be in good shape already.
Back to back defenses against Sosnowski and Briggs may be the worst consecutive defenses by a HW champion in history.
I agree as far as Vitali goes, that grey hair gives him a more intimidating look. For Briggs, he looks a little bit like a homeless bum with his trademark haircut and the salt and pepper beard. Especially with that terrible suit. I was wondering why he dressed that badly for a press conference but then in the video he said his luggage was lost at the airport, kind of explains it
Agreed the opponents including briggs have been unworthy, but the age old question is who else is willling and able? we hear Solis call out Adamek and **** like that, but we never hear anybody call out vitaly (except toney and maybe briggs) and there are never stories surfacing about vitaly avoiding so and so
:rofl I didnt notice it until you said this, both indeed look like Gorillas! Oh wait, you damn racist! If I was a gorilla I would beat the **** out of you now!:yep
When you can't sign to fight them then this quote is applicable when they have given you an opportunity to fight and you have been retired and have no other options then of course the most recent quote is applicable. You have to read between the lines... Haye is in a different boat than Briggs... That which is a dream for Briggs at this stage in his career is bull**** to Haye a the momemt...
