If Mayweather had a more crowd pleasing style, would he be adored as much as pac?

He just needs to fight more, that's enough. People are curious on match-ups whatever your style is. He is less adored because he seldom meet people's expectations when it comes to who he fights when.

I think id like Mayweather if he faced prime fighters in their natural weight division, something he hasnt done for quite a while.

I prefer brawlers and knock out artsts but cant help but be mesmorised by just how great a boxer he is. But its hard to appreciate his skills against smaller guys and guys 6 years past their prime.

Probably, but only if he hadn't adopted this "persona"...however would he be as big a star today without that persona?

If he had a more crowd pleasing style he wouldnt need to go the lengths he goes to sell a fight, the dude works harder trying to put bums in seats than he does inside the ring.

Mayweather was aggressive at 130lbs but wasn't that big a draw, maybe its because he doesn't get hit. Mosley had a similar style to Pac and never got too many fans though

Hit without being Hit ,thats boxing. Some fighters if they used their face for defense would not last long enough in the sport ...

Look at this list 14 years later

    06: Albert Guardado, Topeka, Kan.
    112: Eric Morel, Madison, Wis.
    119: Zahir Raheem, Philadelphia, Pa.
125: Floyd Mayweather, Grand Rapids, Mich.
    132: Terrance Cauthen, Philadelphia, Pa.
    139: David Diaz, Chicago, Ill.
    147: Fernando Vargas, Oxnard, Calif.
156: David Reid, Philadelphia, Pa. (1st)
    165: Rhoshii Wells, Riverdale, Ga.
    178: Antonio Tarver, Orlando, Fla.
    201: Nate Jones, Chicago, Ill.
    +201: Lawrence Clay-Bey, Hartford, Conn

Most of these fighters are has beens and broke ...is Floyd smart for fighting the way he does ..hell yes....maybe more fighters should follow his blueprint.

Yeah that's the way it should be, and according to you, that is boxing. But that is not the fight casual fans, and even some hardcore fans wanna see. For me, IMHO, a boxer needs an aggressive opponent to make the fight exciting to watch.

Boxer vs Fighter = entertaining to watch.
Fighter vs Fighter = awesome fight to watch.
Boxer vs Boxer = well, for me, a snoozefest.

I always tell people if you don't want to watch that fighter fight then don't watch him , if boxing was all about offence and fighters were getting kill every week ..

,I loved the art of boxing which some people don't understand ,even Pac knows he has to have some type of defense....landing only 20% of your punches is not an art....it really takes two fighters to make an exciting fight ,not one.

boxing is not really "hit and don't get hit"

It's more like "hit more than you get hit."

boxing is about winning fights, and if you can win fights getting hit more than another guy who loses fights without getting hit much, then you're better at boxing than he is.

It seems that alot of people forget that first part in "hit and don't get hit"
