Toney talks about his loss to Randy

Man i just wish he would trim down and get in the shape he used to be in many moons ago..He said at the end of the interview that he has all the time in the world to rest when he dies...SO WHY CANT HE GET INSHAPE??

He got the god given talent but that aint enough nomore..

I guess it is too much to ask James Toney to show some respect to the man who thoroughly beat his ass.

 

Typical. He wouldn't even show up to the post-fight press conference.

 

He obviously just doesn't get it.

It would be entertaining for him to get a chance against a top class muay thai fighter; would love to see Peter Aerts sign a 1 fight deal and chop his legs off before kicking his head into the crowd.

Still would prefer to see Mir ripping a limb in half.

 

It's always hard to tell whether JT is damaged because he's always kind of slurred his speech for as long as i can remember, but i'm thinking more and more he's fried. he was totally calm there and couldn't enunciate anything and every sentence/thought was labored. he's gotta start saving this money and quit already

He got out of the first arm triangle? What? Randy let it go because Toney verbally tapped. After Randy released, Toney tried hitting him so Randy simply reapplied it.

He may have earlier in his life, before coming across his cash cow - but he burned that bridge a long time ago.

 

You guys don't really think this faired well for mma/UFC do you?

This will not payout well for the sport. You don't molly coddle the diehard fans of a sport. A fight like this caters to mma purists - who want to see a boxer lose to an mma fighter. But casual sport fans don't care about the background story - they just want to see a good/entertaining fight.

You do nothing in having this bout because it caters to a group that were going to watch it (and will watch future events) regardless.

People for the most part (again - the casual fan that you want to get) did not and will not be impressed with this.


The long term effect of this will not be good for the UFC.

 

I disagree. It will be forgotten in a month and the UFC will continue to grow in leaps and bounds.
