You can't. MT fighters have "happy feet" and NO head movement. Their head is just sitting there. They also have crap defense as their arm positioning is based on a big old leg coming at them. Hitting them through their "guard" is cake. I am telling you this as a boxer who spars them with them using their full arsenal.

Just like most morons you think as a boxer I won't check a kick? You think I won't knee in a clinch? You think I won't throw and elbow? Do all of that crap and get back outside and box? It is foolish.

MT is a great striking art. Boxing is a great striking art that has been LIMITED for sporting purposes. There is no "right" way to fight. You do what suits you and get as many "looks" as possible. A style is only as good as its practitioner.

You are making a fool's argument.

So you are saying boxers can learn to do something else, but other people can't learn to box?

That is a flawed way of thinking. Saying "well if a boxer learns to do such and such he would be a good MMA fighter" is no more sensible than saying "well if Brock Lesnar learned to hit and not get hit he would be a good boxer." Both are true, but they require a degree of difficulty that nears impossibility.

Anybody can do anything if they learn how, but the problem is the rest of the sport already knows.

By the way, Thai fighters toe-tap to be able to check kicks and not telegraph throwing them, they don't bob and weave beacuse it makes them liable to weave right into a head kick. It isn't some inherent flaw, it's because it is what works when thai boxing.

No, no, you're forgetting the core characteristics of boxers:
    They are superior athletes,
    They are in better shape,
    They don't have glass chins,
They don't hug, hug, kiss, kiss.

You have to remember that all MMArtists, grapplers, kickboxers would have been boxers if they were "good" enough. But they weren't, so they had to go to minor leagues.

In fighting it is not enough simply to learn a few "ground moves" and then add it to your boxing skills.

As David Haye tells you, years would not have been enough for Toney.

A lot of people in denial.

    It is pathetic, really.

I am saying Boxing is Boxing and Boxing, in the form you MMA believers always present it is a DEFINED SPORT. MMA fighter doesn't mean ANYTHING. MMA is not a school of fighting but a rule set. Boxers don't do certian crap because... BOXING RULES DON'T LET THEM!

If a Boxer wanted to compete in MMA he would NO LONGER BE BOXING! He would be an MMA practioner with an empasis on striking from the school of Boxing. Under said rule set he better be ready for ANYTHING that can come at him per the rule set. So he would therefore spend copious amounts of time doing ground work too.

Brock Lesnar is a perfect example as to why your line of thinking is complete BS. Brock wasn't doing MMA formatted fights his whole life. He was a pure wrestler. Still he was able to flourish under an MMA rule set. There is literally almost a 0% chance of a guy practicing ANY striking MA and then becoming a championship level boxer. Close to none.

I know exactly why they do it. I am saying that like any other style of fighting, it is exploitable and has holes. Just like a boxer's front leg and bending at the waist. What matters is your looks and dedication to training. Not some, "Boxers can't do it." BS like fighting under MMA rules is impossible. Please.

Shut up clown. You don't know me. I do BJJ. I also focus on boxing stand up as I don't want to lose my base.

So like most of the MMA tards you don't realize that Boxing is limited because it is MADE THAT WAY. Not because people CAN'T use certain tools.

    Seriously you guys are morons.

    Please.

Boxing is just a more limited skill. By limiting the skill you create an environment that "rewards" certain natural gifts. Just like if you further limited boxing by only using one hand, it would reward a even further limited group of people. It doesn't make boxers better or worse. It just is what it is.

The problem I have is people acting as though MMA is some impossible nut to crack. 99% of the guys headlining MMA were doing something else before. They just recognized the rule set and trained accordingly. Boxers could do the same.

MMA participants are amazing athletes in their own rights. Could they box? Probably not because the learning curve for such a limited art is a bit steep. That doesn't make them less as athletes or any less masters of the rule set they compete under.

Way to tell someone to shut up.

Does that ever work over the internet, or anywhere for that matter?

I know that you sound like a virgin schoolgirl even over the net.

I understand that, but it isn't just that rules don't let him, because as you say in MMA they do.

The issue is that they are not particuarly skilled at it. How would a boxer know, for example, how to get up off his back when he has only practiced it for a very brief period of time?

The issue isn't that they can't possibly do it, it's that they do not have the training to do it well enough; the rest of the game already knows how, and isn't going to slow down to help somebody who hasn't been properly trained.

The issue is that those "something elses" that people were doing are much much much closer to MMA than boxing.

It has been proven time and time again that you can take a top wrestler or BJJ guy and make him an MMA fighter with some good training and time, because their sports are so integral to MMA.

People aren't coming in from just any background, they come from very specific backgrounds that are well known to work in MMA.

Boxers are always going to be way behind the game because they can't control where the fight takes place, or do anything productive once they are out of their element.
