If Mayweather had a more crowd pleasing style, would he be adored as much as pac?

Pacquiao can't really be blamed for the Clottey's turtle defense. True, "Hit and not be hit" is the principle of some (and should be) trainers and boxers.

There is no boxer out there with zero defense seriously, some boxers just prefer the "Destroy the opponent at any cost" principle.

So Ledwaba, Sasakul, Marquez, Barrera, Morales, Cotto, and Hoya were just brawlers? I know for a fact that Barrera was kinda like a brawler in his early career but evolve into a boxer-puncher meaning he was able to boxing and brawl whenever he chose to.

Just to let you know Floyd only throws 10-50 punches per round. Landing a lot. Compared to Pacquiao 100 punches per round. Pacquiao's punches aren't just wild punches most of them are feints to set up his heavy shots to hurt his opponent compared to Floyd's pot shooting to gain points on the cards.

It's funny Pacquiao is persistent when he's in trouble and he still manages to win (except for Morales-I; I guess.).

Skill-wise the guy's about as good as it gets but no, his is by no means a crowd pleasing style. I've been to several fights and one of which was DLH/Mayweather and Oscar's the one that made that fight as exciting as it was, which isn't saying much thanks to Floyd.

So Morales/Barrera when against eachother were technical chess matches? JMM simply made Pac look like **** because he's a more technical boxer. Morales beat Manny in fight1. because he was a technically better boxer. Cotto gets beat to look like **** against Margarito, Clottey and Pac . Don't twist my words and if you're going to quote me, actually quote what I say. BTW how about the other fighters that make Manny's record. You listed only 6 guys.

 Everybody likes KO's. I've yet to hear from any boxing fan be it casual or passionate, "I never wanna see a KO in any fight. It's always better to go to the cards. I don't even care to see a 12th. round KO."

    I didn't twist anything.

Morales is a respectable counter-puncher just like Marquez except compared to Mayweather Jr. - better because of his upper body movement-, they're exciting. Actually just because a boxer is technically (defensive) better than the other doesn't mean that they'll win against an offensive boxer or brawler if you want to call it. "Offensive" boxing involves a lot of technical skills just like "Defensive" boxing.

Morales/Barrera hates each other so much that they wanted to kill each. So they practically went offensive against each other. Unless you're trying to imply that all of Morales and Barrera opponents were beaten via brawling.

See the first statement that I bolded? That didn't make sense. You might wanna watch more of Cotto's fight. What about Pacquiao-Clottey?

I won't add anything to the list because I'm pretty sure that you have internet; you have access to Pacquiao's record and youtube and google.

If Floyd had a more crowd pleasing style he would not have to fight older fighters at the tail end of the career and would not have run away from Manny. Floyd has to outbox fighters and chooses to avoid dangerous fighters that will have 12 rounds to do what they do best, score a knockout. Plain and simple no way for *****nation to get around this one. What would make Floyd the true P4P #1 is a higher knockout percentage recently or even more knockdowns but he is just a pure boxer with an average chin and little power even against older fighters. Close but no cigar.

    :good

Very true, a knockout dismisses all DOUBTS. Anybody that says they'd prefer 12 rounds of defensive fighting over a knockout is a liar or needs to get a life.

This thread was started under the guise (paraphrasing) that Mayweather doesn't get the same kind of love, when compared to Pacquiao and is this due to fighting styles. Mayweather's constant mouth diahrea diatribes are on the periphery. He wants to be the villian. All his **** talking makes him out be a caricature of a boxer/fighter, sort of like Clubber Lang in Rocky III, but without THE ACTION to back it up.

If you take a cursory look at the both of the fighters backgrounds they are on opposite ends of the spectrum. Mayweather Jr comes from a boxing family. He started training at a young age and had the benefit of his dad's and uncles BOXING experience relayed to him. So it's not surprising that when he was young if his techinque wasn't perfect he'd get called on it and this has translated to his fighting style

Now, Pacquiao was dirt poor and his father was absent. He didn't have the advantage of some boxing guru constantly teaching him boxing fundementals. His attitude is, his job is to fight and give what the boxing fans an enxciting match or knockout if possible. It what endears him to his fans, casual or not... :D:D:D

Guys, this clown does not know boxing. Floyd throws an amount of punches depending on the incoming. People like to compare the Floyd that was in tough fights with Castillo, Dlh or Baldomir, and use the 100 punches a round PAc lol... Big mistake! Facts are if you come at Floyd, he will be efficient with his punches, and come back at you. This short, ugly, fat fool gets no respect or no response when he tries to talk boxing. Keep guessing about posters here you dickless troll because it's all YOU think YOU can do lol...

Floyd is undefeated, and while this post made you feel good about yourself:lol:, it's just another ***** riding PAc post to true boxing fans lol... Floyd is undefeated, and many fighters come from boxing families and don't succeed. Ali came up privileged, and he is the G.O.A.T!!! Good guy, bad guy, humble guy-who gives a **** if you can fight. *******s think Floyd is boring, and Floyd's fans love how he fights. Neither fan is going to change his opinion about their favorite fighter.:-(

I'm actually surprise you made a boxing argument instead of posting vid's of Pac. No moron. He doesn't he waits. He doesn't always punch at the same time with the other guy.

Ok dumbest poster of ESB whatever you say. You might think of a better insult though because you're the one who's being called dickless and a troll. :patsch No creativity at all. So pathetic.

All you can think and do and make alts on ESB and agree with yourself since you're loser. :deal BTW 5'8 150lbs. That makes Fraud Gayrunner a pig.

Oh NALLEGE, you are the gift that keeps on giving. Ali would be considered G.O.A.T. because he fought the best out there. He didn't go on vacation when a fight was to be made. Nice try though.

As far as riding PENISES, maybe that BIG black dildo you have stuffed WAAAYYY up your ass (duly named the Pretty One0 is putting pressure on your brain... YOU'VE reverted back to your RainMan mode: "Floyd is undefeated. Floyd is undefeated. Judge Wopner at 5. Kmart sucks!!! NALLEGE SUCKS" <snicker> :hey:yep:nut:rofl
