Not to mention knock him out, which given the relative usefulness of the brain as opposed to the arm, is quite a bit meaner.

Although I don't condone what James Toney said either, he has a fight to promote. What's your motivation?

    Who are your favorite boxers?

My motivation is years of irritation, and the fact that it would be entertaining. I don't seriously want his arm literally ripped in two, but a nice hyper-extension or clean fixable snap would be pleasing, I won't lie, hopefully it will stop this forum from looking like it currently does at least.

Well most of those that I actually had a real rooting investment in have retired lately; Hatton, Calzaghe, Hopkins. I would probably list Abraham as my favorite right now off the top of my head.

Every time you cheer for a KO, you are cheering for brain trauma; so ****ing spare me.

Toney has always been an *******... good boxer though. Heavyweight Champ of The World? No, far from it! He holds two belts that say Heavyweight World Champ on them but they ain't ****. He was the WBA HW Champ for a minute... he was stripped of that belt due to testing positive for Steroids after his win over John Ruiz... the fight result was changed to a NC.

Anyway, I can't believe we are still talking about this.

Non-comparable. In boxing, a knockout can occur at any given time, and once the punch lands, nobody can do anything about it. What we're talking about here is a fighter being locked in a submission, and although he'll most likely be tapping with god's speed, you'd wish for the opponent to tweak it further. Break the bone. Obviously, this has just been a big old happy tongue and cheek discussion hasn't it Beebs, but I don't really relate to wanting to see a fighter have his arm broken, not without having been given ample time to tap out.

I don't recall ever shouting out, "Go to sleep *****, go to sleep" when a knockout has occurred either. That's just me, though.

Beebs should go over to Sherdog. He'd certainly realize that these ignorant tools who exist in Boxing, also exist in his sport. Stupidity is universal and common sense ain't so common.

Never cheered for somebody to knock out a hurt fighter? Doubt that. Again, you are cheering for a brain slapping against the skull to the point where a person is unable to physically function for 10 seconds or more, don't lecture me on a broken arm.

I don't want him to tap, it would obviously be disappointing to see a fighter hold on after the tap. I want him to carry his disrespectful attitude into the fight, refuse to tap, and pay the consequences.

Mir's arm breaking armbar on Sylvia was just like a KO, happened before anybody could do anything about it, especially Sylvia.

So you aren't a complete ****, after all. Good to hear, Beebs.

In regards to the rest of your post, I've certainly never uttered those words whilst watching a fighter hit the canvas. If a fighter gets knocked out, I'll hope for his recovery and congratulate him on his efforts. James Toney lost his fight to Couture, I don't understand why you're still so bitter to the point of wanting to see him in with Mir so he can have one of his limbs snapped off? This doesn't compute. You seem really sensitive towards any slights at all towards MMA. I'll save you a lot of time here. You will always hear it, until the day you die. Boxing has its detractors, too. The world is not against Mixed Martial Arts.

I really am not, It's just like when a sports team you really feel a part of is playing a huge game, you get a bit hot headed.

I wouldn't mind seeing someone snap something on Toney. He said Randy was scared of him after he got his ass beat. That's some kind of thing to see disrespect on that level against a legendary fighter that humiliated him.

I don't know. If Randy Couture entered a Boxing ring and talked **** his the whole way through, about a minute in of the hammering he'd inevitably receive, I'd just want the referee to come in and stop it. I wouldn't want to see him laid out cold on his back. Toney talked a lot of ****, but he has a family and a reputation, and it was heartbreaking to see him being man handled like that. Perhaps that's the perspective of a Boxing die hard.

But everyone saw him get humiliated. Everyone with a brain knows that fear wasn't really a factor for Randy going for the take down. There's nothing left to prove. It seems whenever some bad words are said about your fighters, fists are thrown and you break out your Ju Jitsu. Like on Strikeforce, Miller asks for a rematch and then the next thing you know, he's getting jumped.
