Do you really think Wards win over Kessler had anything to do with being at home. Kessler lost virtually every round. Lets say the fight was in Denmark. At worst they take a few points for head butting. Still Ward wins. Now lets look at Kessler/Froch which IMO was a very close fight. If the fight was in Nottingham they would of given the fight to Froch especially after seeing how they gave Froch the nod against Dirrel who deserved the "L" but clearly landed more shots and landed the most effective shots in the fight. This tournament I believe is best like I've already described . NBA playoffs.

    1. You've misinterpreted this thread entirely. Your trying to start an argument out of the blue by bashing on people who you perceive to defending Abraham, and nobody is at all. No one in this thread has said AA was winning, or that he didn't deserve the DQ. To clarify, this thread was about the knockdown Arthur Abraham scored against Andre Dirrell, that was't awarded by the referee.

Theres no need to jump to the "omg im on a forum, best kick off" mode.

    2. Froch lost the fight, and he lost it by unanimous decision. I'm a big fan of Froch and went to see him vs Dirrell. I've watched his fight with Kessler a number of times, and he clearly loses by at least 2/3 rounds.

It was a legitimate knockdown on the round 10. Those who says otherwise are people who don't know anything about boxing.

The referee was a disgrace. Worst referee ever!!! This referee shouldn't be allowed to refer other fights. Lots of low blows from Direll and that shitty referee didn't do anything. The 10 round KD was a legitimate one and he counted it as a slip.

There was only 1 knockdown in this fight and it's in the round 10 with Abraham KD of Direll. The first Direll "KD" was not a KD, because Direll pushed Abraham, causing him to off balance, before throwing the punch that put Abraham down.

The other one is Direll hit Abraham with his forearm, not with a punch. So it's not a knockdown.

With all those things, I can understand why Abraham got frustrated and hit Direll with a foul. Yea he made a mistake but he's not a dirty fighter. 95% of all boxers would have done the same.

Direll acted like a coward by acting. He was starting to gas, Abraham had a chance to KO him.
Now everyone thinks the bad guy is Abraham just because he made a little mistake and Direll has taken full advantage of it by acting.

:think if you connect the two bold parts, you'd be telling the truth. Kessler traveled to England for his biggest fight, took on Mundine at his home turf too, and also went to Ward's home turf. Froch went to the states to battle Taylor. AA is the only guy who stayed home before super 6... but so did Ward and Dirrell.

And i hope the final will turn to AA Vs Dirrell 2 :happy (but with an unbiased referee if it's possible :patsch)

Nevermind that Abraham was getting outboxed virtually every round but some of you IDIOTS are still bellyaching over a clearly illegal blow and a knockdown where he stepped on his foot.

    Got it.

Abraham's devasting right connected flush on Dirrell's Chin, clean as a whistle.

He didn't even step on his foot. That is a complete myth.

Get some cleaner for your glasses moron and watch the clip again.:lol::rofl:rofl

Well, AA fought Miranda in Florida (it was Florida, wasn´t it?).
And I believe he would have fought Pavlik in the US, too. Since he always wanted to be big over there.

Dirrell was clerly the better man that night and AA was stupid to foul. Hopefully we´ll see those two again in the ring together.
I´m curious, if AA learnd the right lessens out of this fight.

Dirrell has some serious skills and seems to have some pop too. But all this slipping and bull**** is a real turn off.

Regarding AA´s knockdown, for me it looked like his right connected and then Dirrell stumbled over AA´s foot.

The AA knockdown of Dirrell in the 10th was def. knockdown. That ref is widely regarded as awful and I don't understand how he continues to get title fights. He may have tripped over the foot, but without the punch, and the foot still in the same place, he doesn't go down. But it's not clearly evident that he did trip.

AA, however, deserved to be DQ'd because he hit a man while he was on a knee.
But there's another however. Dirrell was not knocked out by that shot. Guys don't look up and say something, then go to sleep and start twitching when their lights have been turned out by a punch. They go out instantly. Dirrell knew better than anyone else that Abraham was getting closer and closer, and knew better than anyone else that the punch in the 10th was a knockdown. So he found a good way to get out of the kitchen with the win.
I know people will argue about that, but I know what I saw. DQ was the right call regardless, but Dirrell was going to make damn sure of it.

AA, would brutally knock Dirrell out in a rematch, anywhere.

It was a knockdown and that probably added to Abraham's frustration, but he's still got to know better than to let that get the best of him.

Everyone in the room where I was watching the fight was up on their feet because we knew how much tension there was in the final minutes and it was riveting to see if Dirrell would outlast him for the clear win or whether Arthur would finally catch Andre clean enough to stop him. It's just a damn shame that the most unsatisfying way that fight could've ended is the exact what happened.

I agree that the KD should have counted, but this is ridiculous.

Lawrence Cole is one of the worst referees in boxing today. It was a clear knockdown! If Abraham had not thrown the late blow he would have knocked Dirrell out! Dirrell started running after the knockdown. Dirrell knew he was knocked down, but Cole is crooked and biased. Watch some of Cole's refereeing in Texas! Abraham did not start fighting soon enough and should never have allowed Dirrell to have his fight in his own turf with crooked referee. Dirrell faked an injury to get the fight in his home town and now Dirrell and Ward are fighting it out for home town advantage. Ward refused to fight in tournament unless he got all his fights in his home town and Dirrell is afraid to fight outside of his home turf. Fight might be canceled! All the fights should be fought in neutral territory with neutral judges and referee!

I though the fight was much closer than most of you, especially if the KD would have been properly ruled. I had Dirrell up by 3 points after 10 and he was on his way out in one of the next two rounds. Dirrell started his usual, I am falling and stumbling around the ring because my opponents pressure and punches are breaking me down routine, once again. Then Abraham messes up and cracks him as Dirrell is taking another trip to the canvas inorder to bide time/survive Abraham's pressure.

It is a shame Abraham had to lose his "O" under those conditions.
