Resume wise (which is what pound 4 pound should be) its clearly Adamek. None of these guys have taken as a big of a risk (going from LHW - CW - HW) and been as active. We know the other guys may have more talent and potential but you have to prove it against top comp., in order for that to count. P4P is about accomplishments not about talent or potential. Adamek fits the definition of pound for pound because he was the man in two seperate divisions and is now a top contender in one, with less than 12 months of fighting. And BTW. Haye never unified the CW belts. He did not fight Cunningham who was a belt holder.

Nah, one so-so performance (in which Adamek won at least 8 rounds) should not dictate this ranking. Adamek's sometimes troublesome but exciting performance vs. Grant was more convincing than Haye's boring ass marathon squeeker against Valuev. Also everybody's whipping boy Barrett actually hurt Haye by putting him on his ass. This never happened to Adamek.

One so-so performance is enough because they were very close before the Grant fight and are still very close but have switched positions.

They were not close at all. Adamek has done more than Haye at HW, in half the time. This was also true at cruiserweight. If you consider his LHW accomplishments, this totally puts him in front.

Haye has won a belt at heavyweight, that is on the whole a bigger achievement than anything Adamek has done. Arreola has always been massively overrated and has been completely exposed when stepping up in class- but he is the best name on Adamek's heavyweight record. There is substance in saying ruiz was better than him

Not the ruiz that haye has fought. Honestly i would favour estrada over that version of ruiz.

I like all three guys but that poll is a joke. IF the criteria is accoplishments then David Haye would be first as he has won already won a Heavyweight Title. If it is skill then Chad Dawson by a mile. The only one who doesn't have a case is Adamek. Unfortuantely what happened with the poll is everyone voted for who they liked best not who was best p4p. Based on how I judge p4p I would vote for Dawson.

Winning a random belt means NOTHING when comparing fighters P4P. On top of that the fight that got Haye his belt was one of the worst and most disgraceful displays of boxing in the history of the sport. By the merits of that fight alone Haye would be barred from any P4P ranking.

You know I think it's about time to start a people's movement for Adamek vrs. Haye.

Saying Adamek is a better fighter than Haye (and based on resume, he is by a wide margin) seems to infuriate the hell out of the Haye fans on this board. Maybe it irritates Haye too?

If fans keep publicizing the opinion that Adamek would own Haye, would that finally motivate Haye to go for this fight?

Would it motivate Adamek to stop messing around with oversized old men and focus on the guys he should be fighting...eg Haye, Chag and/or Povetkin?

For starters, the shot at a belt was completly unearned and unwarranted after only defeating Barret in his first real HW fight. It was a gift. And what did Haye do with this gift? He bored us to tears, going life and death with a guy that was made to order for him (tall but very immobile and feather fisted....not to mention Valuev didn't even throw anything). Sorry, there's a reason why everyone calls Haye a paper champion and the above coupled with his embarassing activity level is a huge part of it. When you consider that Adamek has only been in the HW division for 10 months, has already had more fights than Haye has had in 2 years, Adamek's HW resume shits all over Haye's. In the hands of Haye, that belt he won is a meaningless trinket not worth mentioning.

Good points. I think Haye has already heard this talk as Adamek was being mentioned by him for a while along side Audley, as his next opponent. British media have also written about this extremely logical match up. If Haye has any self respect and balls, the choice for his next opponent should be clear.

Surely being unified champion of the weight class below meant he deserved it? So what about Arreola, Johnson? they have never beaten anyone yet got 1. This happens in any other weight class where a champion can move up and get a title shot at a higher weight based on what they have done in their previous division. People just ignore common sense and reasoning when talking about haye beacause they don't like him or his attitude

Once again, Haye did not unify the CW division. He did not face champion Steve Cunningham. What is so hard to grasp about that? Haye's best career win still remains Enzo or Fragomeni, take your pic. Adamek's best is either Cunningham or Arreola, take your pic. Not only has Adamek defeated bigger names but he has done so in a more efficient time span, consistently having an average of 3-4 fights per year. Couple that with a comparison of their respective losses (Haye lost to Carl Thompson, Adamek to Chad Dawson) and the p4p choice is clear based on resume and activity.
