Junior middleweight contender Ishe Smith wants to let the world know he wants to be James Kirkland's

opponent when Kirkland returns to the ring for he first time after serving his prison stint. Smith told ***********.com, "my advisor Ray Campbell called me and asked what I thought about fighting James Kirkland and I told him let's do this."

It's actually a good test for Kirkland.

He'll probably pass it with an A+ KO or TKO, but still..:yep

yay, cant wait for ishe to fight well enough to make it close yet show his unwillingness to battle for victory. He is the epitome of a fighter with a sparring partner's mentality.

It's hard to look good against Ishe so it's not a good fight for Kirkland to come back to.

He's not quite as bad as Joshua Clottey or Rocky Juarez in the "WTF is wrong with you, CARPE DIEM YOU DUMB SON OF A *****!" department.

Very true. I certainly wouldn't count Ishe out in this fighty as well. If only the guy would be a tad more aggressive and let his hands go, he might have gotten the nod on a few fights he lost.

man I really like Ishe, I was hoping he'd take a less risky but still good fight after his last outing. Kirkland will beat him. take an easy fight for once, Ishe!

Kirkland has been off for a while, coming back against a guy like Smith after that time off would be dangerous. I would have picked Kirkland when he was still fighting to beat Smith but he would have had to work hard to do it. If Kirkland does go straight to Smith than that is a tough fight and Smith could beat him. Kirkland needs to get some rounds in with atleast one easy fight or two before he fights Smith. If he does that then he'll beat Smith if not its a tough fight to call.

Of course he wants Kirkland RIGHT NOW. Inactivity is a fighter's worst nightmare & gives him the best chance to win. Wouldn't be surprised to see him fight Ishe in like his 3rd or 4th fight back, but not his first. It's just bad matchmaking
