:rofl:rofl:rofl:rofl:rofl Joe would have ass-raped your ghost, Boo. And he knew it. You think he saw more to worry about in Pav then Lacey ? Or Hopkins ? You're not doing much of a job at mending your cred after the Martinez-out-on-a-stretcher fiasco.:yep
Yes, Lacy was a second rate fighter. Pavlik looked pretty damn dangerous until the Martinez fight. Considering the Pavlik is a decent puncher and Joe is a glorified slapping bum I would like Pavlik's chances.
Pavlik is a straight forward fighter, Joe was probably at his best against guys who were right in front of him. The fact that you refer to Joe Calzaghe as a bum sheds enormous light on the fact that you are a giant douche.
He might be a pubic hair or so above "bum" in the whole scheme of things. Not much though. His resume demonstrates the fact that he accomplished very little compared to almost every other world titlist of note. He has exactly two great wins on his resume and one was a disputed decision against a man nearly 50 years old. Pavlik's pair of wins against Taylor make his resume every bit as good as Joe's.
not as knowledgeable as you Boo. http://www.eastsideboxing.com/forum/showthread.php?t=216451 :rofl:rofl:roflESB's no.1 boxing analyst.
but Pavlik was nearly dead with the sniffles or a fever,or Staff infection,or it was the trouble gaining weight.atsch
Talk about a classic. He actually bumped this thread. TWICE ! http://www.eastsideboxing.com/forum/showthread.php?t=216451&page=6 He didn't bump it much after this, though: This content is protected Was 'missing' for a day or two.:yep
Taylor wants $10m from Calzaghe Taylor is the sort of big name American Calzaghe craves Jermain Taylor says Joe Calzaghe will need to more than double his purse offer to arrange a fight. Promoter Frank Warren has offered the middleweight king $4m for a shot at Calzaghe's WBO super middleweight title in the UK in September. "If Joe and Frank want me that much, make me an offer for $10m and I will show up and bring him a gift to his front door," Taylor told BBC Sport. Taylor defends his WBC and WBO titles against Cory Spinks on 19 May. The 28-year-old Little Rock man, who holds a record of 26-0-1 (17 KOs), is refusing to contemplate a Calzaghe bout before then. Joe only wants to fight the best man out there and that is Jermain Frank Warren But he says that if the money was right he would move up to super middleweight, and he would not have a problem with fighting in the UK. "No atmosphere is intimidating because once you start fighting your focus is on the man in front of you," said Taylor in a question and answer session for the BBC Sport website. Calzaghe, 35, made the 20th defence of the title he has held for 10 years against Peter Manfredo Jr on 7 April in front of 35,000 fans at Cardiff's Millennium Stadium. He hoped to be in action again on 21 July, but a broken hand suffered against Manfredo and the lack of a suitable opponent looks likely to delay that until later in the year. "Joe only wants to fight the best man out there and that is Jermain," said Warren last week, after offering Taylor an American referee for a potential bout. "I know Jermain wants to fight only the biggest fights and make the most money. "To do that we need to hold the fight over here where we can build on the record attendance Joe established against Manfredo." Calzaghe says he should be over a broken hand by July Bernard Hopkins and WBC and WBA super middleweight champion Mikkel Kessler are unavailable in July, though the latter's camp have said that they would be willing to fight Calzaghe in the UK in September. Unbeaten British and Commonwealth super middleweight champion Carl Froch also says he is keen to take on the Welshman. But the Nottingham fighter is little-known to the US TV audience and Warren claims that he has refused large purse offers for a bout. Roy Jones Jr says he is ready to meet Calzaghe anytime, anywhere, but previous negotiations between the former four-weight title holder and Warren have collapsed over money. That could leave WBO mandatory challenger Denis Inkin as a potential opponent. The German-based Russian, 29, holds a record of 30-0 (23 KOs) including wins over Calzaghe-victims Branko Sobot and Mario Veit, but he is an unknown in the UK and USA.
Last Updated: Sunday, 8 April 2007, 07:45 GMT 08:45 UK E-mail this to a friend Printable version Calzaghe after Taylor super-fight By Ben Dirs in Cardiff Calzaghe wasted little time in finishing off Manfredo Joe Calzaghe's promoter Frank Warren is set to offer middleweight king Jermain Taylor £3m for a super-fight in July to probably take place in Britain. Calzaghe made the 20th defence of his WBO belt with a third-round win over Peter Manfredo in Cardiff on Saturday. Warren said Denmark's WBC and WBA super middleweight champion Mikkel Kessler had rejected a summer unification bout. "Joe's got no problems fighting those guys. Maybe Kessler will rethink or maybe Taylor will take it," he said. "I spoke to Kessler's promoter Morgen Palle last week, sent him an offer and he sent me a fax back yesterday saying that Kessler won't be ready in July. "Why, I do not know, because he was calling Joe out after his last fight. But you can't force him to fight. I'd love it to be him because his style really suits Joe. "How can you not be ready in four months' time? It's crazy. He also said he'd want half the purse. "But how a guy who's had a few defences of his title has parity with a guy who's had 20, I don't know. "In the meantime, we're offering Jermain Taylor £3m to fight Joe in July, and American television network HBO have talked about fighting Bernard Hopkins in January, so we'll see what happens."
I hate to say it but it's the truth. Calzaghe is over rated. An article came out awhile ago about Joe's old promoter asking Joe if he wanted to prove himself in america over 10 years ago. He claims Joe wanted no part knowing he wouldn't stand a chance against the likes of RJJ, B-Hop or James Toney. I'll post the link when I find it. His best wins are Lacy(overhyped body builder),Kessler,(overhyped, injury or not), old RJJ and B-Hop who landed the far more effective punches unless you count slaps and the rest of his resume is filled with mediocre opposition. Stop trying to justify this clown. His very style is the definition of the coined term "smoke and mirrors ". He throws 1000 slaps a fight to look busier to the judges. He does have good defense and footwork though. I'll give you that but honestly STFU about Joe.
