All the Floyd fans might have to go see a gyno after reading this but screw it. How bout putting these two in the same spot. Both undefeated with impresive records but how great are they really? Floyd might be a great lightweight and all but in overall how great is he? He stoped steping it up a long time ago and he became a guy who could beat the weakest jr welter and welter champs.(does not apply to calzaghe just making a point)
calzaghe will be forgotten in the future, just a bit above ottke and nielsen. Floyd will be our aaron pryor, he will be a guy who could have been a legend but lacked balls to step up.
Pryor tried to step up and take on leonard, give him credit for that. He also beat hearns in the amateurs.
Calzaghe fought the top guys, albeit late in his career, on fair ground with no bullsh.. advantages to give him the edge...He fought guys in his division and even above and he never fought Jr. middle weights as a super middle....I'm not sure you put the two in the same class, even though I think PBF has more skill and talent....
How the **** can you say that when Floyd has never beaten anyone, I mean anyone as good as BHOP. I place Floyd abit higher but man stop with the amnesia ****.
Floyd is no great lightweight. he had four fights at lightweight. One was a gift, one was a close UD, the other was a lackluster decision against an opponent a graet lightweight would have demolished and the last was a v. good performance against a perrenial B-level fighter.
I agree, also Floyd never fought anyone who was thought to be as dangerous as Lacy. Even though he was a hype job, it seemed to be a dangerous fight for Joe.
Have you ever looked at the wasteland years of Joe's "defenses". Floyd has been easily handling world titlist for over ten years now. Joe spent his whole career fighting club fighters. His best win was a disputed decision against a old man. He looked so terrible in the ring with Hopkins I wouldn't pay to see him fight again.
Are you ****ing high or ******ed? Your more dangerous than Lacy. Even Gatti was more dangerous than Lacy. Lacy never beat a single world class opponent in his entire career. He fits in well with the other built up record no namers Joe faced.
And that means what to overall resume you ****ing idiot? Are you in your dumbass brain actually saying that Joe Calzaghe, who besides Bernard Hopkins, best wins include Mikkel Kessler and Jeff Lacy that his resume is even close to floyd mayweathers? The same guy that went 15-0 against champions, and won belts across 5 divisions. A bit higher? You rank Floyd a "bit" higher then Joe Calzaghe? Seriously just shut the **** up you stupid *******, nobody cares about your rankings.
Pryor had his chance to fight Leonard. He turned it down because he wanted more money. He also had his chance to fight Duran @ 150 and unify 140 but had too many personal/professional issues that screwed those fights up. Mayweather's resume could/should be better, but it's still better than Calzaghe's.
