Can Pac-Margarito really draw 70,000 or more?

Margo only did 15000 ppv buys against his last opponent, thats not very impressive.

I expect this ppv to do around 850,000 sells.

in regards to pac and clottey they were giving away tickets for that, apparently they gave several thousand away for free and the majority were being sold for 25$.

Expect no more then 60,000 in attendance.

If Pac-Clottey can do 51,000 in Cowboys Stadium, then a better match-up (more guaranteed action than turtle-shell Clottey) against a better-known opponent (Margarito) who is of Mexican descent (large Mexican-heritage population in Texas) should be able to draw in 20,000 more people.

Not to mention that the fight comes during the football season (more cross-promotion with the popular Cowboys) and should have a better undercard stacked with Latin fighters.

I haven't even mentioned the whole "Good vs Evil" angle here -- people who want to see Margarito get his just desserts for the hand wraps.

Many boxing writers are hating on this fight. That hardly matters. In fact, it actually heightens the "controversy" factor for the average fan. Another aspect that helps this fight over the Clottey one: 24/7.

If the promotion is done right on this fight, then even more than 70,000 could show up. Easily. We'll see how it's done. I know Arum had to leave the press tour because of his son being missing. Hopefully Arum's absence won't hurt too much in the next few days.

I don't know if you noticed my thread, but last Saturday night David ran his winning streak up to 15 consecutive fights.

Think of it this way. How many Ghanains or Clottey fans live in Texas? Maybe 3? Still Pac was able to draw a HUGE crowd on his name alone. Now take Margarito. A Mexican boxer in a state heavily populated with Mexicans. That arena will be PACKED!

If these two fighters don't talk **** to one another it may not do so well....its how you sell a fight going around the country and acting like buddies ain't going to make it...it will be like the Clottey fight or more like a sparing match.

and hell no we won't go ,hell no we won't go!!

At one time people on this board were talking about how Pac doesn't need anyone to sell fights ,now all of a sudden he needs Margo and Mexicans to sell tickets..if this is the case then Margo should have demanded more money ...whatever happen to the big ASIAN MARKET he so claim to have ....bunch of contradiction and many of you know who you are.
This Fight is fixed already the two shaking hands all ready ...bad for boxing ,just like his last fight.

FLOYD SELL HIS OWN FIGHTS ...HE SHOULD HAVE GOTTEN IN TOUCH WITH FLOYD AND SPOKE TO HIM PERSONALLY ,IN WHICH HE DIDN"T.

I stay in the dallas area, and sadly I think the fight will pull in good numbers, more mexicans around here are more upset thats is marg fighting instead of marquez, not alot of marg fans here due to his recent issue he lost alot of mexican fans around here, man if it was marquez vs pac in arlington !!! wow man it would be huge!!!
