How do you guys view Margarito's loss against Mosley?

I'll admit, Margo looked a little distracted @ the beginning of the fight. But after Mosley started cracking him, he seemed to wake up. Mosley gets full credit for whooping that ass because he did just that. Marg is slow as dirt & speed is something he doesn't deal w/ very well. You'll see on Nov 13. It seemed like Mosley took the hand wrap thing personal, cause he seemed like he wanted to kock Margo's head off from the jump. Maybe w/out the wraps he wasn't "himself".

 

Clinch Margo and he is far less effective

 

Would have happened with or without the hand wraps. The same way.

 

Rockgloves was beaten to pieces by a better fighter. This one was incredibly easy to call based on styles and actual level of ability. Mosley is a MUCH better fighter on all levels. This fight plays out the same way every time. If they fight ten times, I really don't see Rockgloves winning a single fight. As noted above. Rockgloves is a slow, plodding, volume puncher. Mosley is fast and throws hard shots. Mosley beats "The Human Punching Bag" to the punch every time they fight.

 

Seems incredibly easy to call now, but at the time, don't forget Shane was a huge underdog, like 4-1, I think?

You are not going to beat mosley , by walking him down. Thats what margarito did. He walked into everything mosley had to offer. legit loss.

its a bit of both, mentally of course he would be affected by the controversy going in... but from whats been reported one week following the fight, Margarito did a bit too much partying after his win over Cotto and came into camp at 180 with six weeks to make the weight....
I think it was a bit of both, regardless what I think weather its fact or not he still got his ass tore up, and those kind of losses stay with you, Margarito will never be the same regardless of what he does or how he does...
However this fight with Pacquiao I expect to see the same Margarito that fought Cotto, the problem here is will that be enough? it just might be considering Manny is fighting a bigger guy who will pressure him, and what happens should Manny take him to the ropes as he did Cotto?.. not a good idea I expect Manny to fight him the way he fought Clottey... stepping around throwing combonations and taking advantage of Margaritos slow plotting style...

 

Shane was an underdog because of his age & the rest of the world was still in awe of what margo did to cotto, who beat mosley a few yrs back. But looking at their styles, you could see that Margo was made for Mosley's style & Shane had a huge advantage in hand speed.

I expect Margo to go back to his usual fighting style, but still get his ass sparked.

 

I feel to this day if cotto would have fought his regular fight then margo would have been KOed. Cotto didn't put in no body work and just boxed him in circles the first 6. When cotto's feet started slowing down then margo's uppercut started finding a home. If cotto was the agressive cotto he would of whipped margo in the same fashion as mosley.

Mosley stood his ground and pummelled margo to the body like he had never felt. Eventually breaking margo down and KOing him. That's how you are supposed to beat a powerhouse mexican. They take shots to the head all day. You have to take the body out and Pac is definately gonna do both. Also, when I found out that Nazim was trainin mosley I knew he was gonna whip magro. Nazim's fighters don't lose to one demensional stalkers period.

 

I don't really view it at all because the real news is that it looks like he was cheating. Had he lost and the wraps weren't an issue then I would have been happy as a fan of Margarito's. The attention he received from trying to look like a big, marquee fighter who would smash Mayweather was entirely counterproductive. He was very likable as the humble brawler. He should have stuck to doing what he did best - fighting gritty, entertaining bouts on the rodeo circuit.

Instead, he became the adopted leader of the anti-Floyd bandwagon, believed the hype, and lost everything.

 

At the time of the fight I predicted the exact same thing, not that I'm trying to brag since it was so ****ing easy to call. Mosley held the stylistic advantages, aside from just being a flat out better fighter. It's rare such an easy call comes along.

 

Yeah people were saying Mosley was going to be taken out in a coffin... Now EVERYBODY saw it coming and can't believe everybody else didn't too...
