Pac deserves a better challenger. Margarito deserves to come back, but not this fight. Vacant titles deserved to be obtained at their true weight. Boxing history deserves it be made fairly.

Good read. Pacquiao has already shown a disinterest in fighting Margarito...but he needs more say in who he wants to fight, especially at this stage in his career. Fair enough, Mayweather didn't want it "yet"...but there are definitely more deserving challengers than Margarito. He doesn't deserve to be fighting at World level yet in only his second bout back from suspension, especially against the P4P#1.

Lies spewed one after another to try and get Manny's fans to ridicule Mayweather and praise Manny. "Manny agrees to a 14 day cutoff after Mayweather said no cutoff", "No wait I meant Manny agreed to no cutoff". Why are you saying that after you've made it clear you're fighting Margarito? You push a catchweight title fight with just recently licensed Margarito, after being banned for a year for trying to beat Mosley with plaster hands, and being denied the chance to be reinstated by multiple commissions. Why did Arum push the Margarito bout just as hard as he pushed the Mayweather bout, clearly it will make nowhere near the same amount? Arum knew Mayweather was not fighting again this year due to his statement, and created this whole ordeal to stay in the media and press. Quite smart he is.

Dude, I respect your opinion to a point. If you're mad that the WBC put it's stamp for belt fine and he doesn't deserve a shot at a belt, let alone even being licensed, fine.

You might not like it, but it sure sounds conspiratory when you say that Arum wanted this all the time. Why??? A Pac/Margarito fight could easily be made in the future, after a Pacquiao/Mayweather trilogy. The money that's going to be generated for this fight is going to be a fraction of what would be made with a Pacquiao/Mayweather fight.

By Arum making this fight he puts in jeopardy the estimated record revenue for a Pac/May bout. You bring up that Mosley destroyed Margarito, which is undeniable, but it would also be fair to say that the handwraps controversy affected Margarito mentally. To say otherwise is denying the truth, just ask Tua, before he fought Lewis. His dad and family started crying in the locker room. It wasn't the right time for that kind of emotion. Tua was a ****ing mess. He went out to fight and got his ass beat.

Margarito being caught cheating doesn't change the fact that he has the POTENTIAL to upset Pacquiao. While the people that pooh pooh this fight bring up Pacquiao's advantages, Margarito still has his own. If Pacquiao's punches are ineffective it's going to be a long night for Pacquiao. And if Margarito's timing is on he could hurt Pacquiao. You need to take your emotion when sizing up this fight. If Pacquiao loses to Margarito, a Pacquiao/Mayweather fight will lose it's luster, at least to some percentage of people.

Now as far as Pacquiao not supposedly not standing up to Arum, you might want to take a step at look at it culturaly. Pacquiao grew up dirt poor. No father. He had to fight undernourished. His job in his mind was to always fight, he didn't give a **** who it was. Do you think in his wildest dreams that he would be making this kind of money? Hell, no... from Pacquiao's point of view Arum helped him make this happen. He's not about to countermand his promoter. Filipinos in general are loyal people to a fault. I've experienced their craziness. I'm an American of Filipino decent and I can't understand them sometimes. Hell, it almost cost me my life.

There was a reason your article was turned down and after reading your article it was justified. You should stick to Margarito being licensed to fight for a belt, that at the very least is your strongest argument. :rasta
