Anyone can claim to be injured that doesn't make it fact without any proof,

I'm sure they is a scan somewhere revealing damage to Barker's hip(?).

Are you Irish or do you know Macklin personally? Surely only an Irishman or personal connection could be this bias towards Macklin so as to assume Barker is faking injury.

 

No I'm just a cynical Englishman.
If I was going to be biased for patriotic reasons I'd side with Barker.
My gut feeling is that this is a duck but you would be right to say I have no proof, it's just my opinion.

 

In fairness to Barker, he said in a recent enough interview that his hip was giving him problems. I'm skeptical also but I think this one could be legit.

Have fights between Macklin and Barker fallen apart before? I seem to remember that.

I'm not sure but I think they were due to fight for a British title and then Macklin was offered a shot at Asikainend for the Euro title so he took that instead.
