Archie Moore draw at age 49 with future champion Willie Pastrano

I cant believe how incredible was Archie Moore.At age 49 he got draw with future light heavyweight champion Willie Pastrano who was 26.I find some newspaper article from that time where the press scored 8-2 for Moore.Actually Moore get robbed in that fight.

 

Moore was not 49. Moore was born in 1916. Making him 44 when the fight took place. Still it's amazing and shows Archie's legendary longevity. Archie did something different this night, something unique that allowed him to oubox the much younger Pastrano. I forget what it was, but Archie pulled something out of his old bag of tricks.

 

44, 49 who cares. That is ****ing old for a boxer.

 

Moore said that he was born 1916 but probably he was born 1913 and he was actually 48 years old.

 

The mother****er was old I think we can agree on that.

Pretty amazing that he could do that, Pastrano is the kind of fighter that would make you look old with his speed and fluid movement.
