Are you kidding me, mentioning De La Hoya? De La Hoya made Floyd come to his weight class, use bigger gloves, and fight in a smaller ring. The only argument you can make against Floyd as far as the De La Hoya fight is concerned is that De La Hoya was old and past his prime. As far as the demands that were made for that fight, De La Hoya was the one who made them and all were to his advantage.

ok fair enough but yes dela hoya was still old. if floyed wants to be remembered as a legand he has to fight people in there prime.

if he went up to light middle and faught someone like paul williams id give him huge respect. but he wont because he's loose that fight.

I don't think he'd lose that fight but I think you're right that he wouldn't take it at 154. But Williams has always stated that 147 is his best wait (whether that's true or not I don't know but you have to take his word), so why couldn't they fight at 147, the weight that both claim is their best weight. I guarantee you though if they did fight at 147 and Floyd won, everyone would claim that Williams was drained, even though he's always stated that 147 is his best weight.

Everyone talks about Mayweather, but he is one man in one weight class. There are a lot of fighters who have not taken fights this year, and it's usually because they are not happy with their cut. Angulo, Williams and Caballero have all refused fights because of money. And Ortiz has no business calling out anyone after he quit in the ring fighting Maidana.

Some promoters don't understand that being a star and a top fighters are not the same thing. The stars (people who can generate money) are the ones that control the sport.

This is the thing that people like Williams and Caballero don't understand and Bob Arum does.

I can kind of see your point with Cotto but not Margarito. I am sure that Margarito could still make welterweight.
