The manner in which he beat Diego Corrales and Ricky Hatton is enough for me to consider him one of the greatest of all time. It still pisses me off to no end that he continues to throw roadblocks in front of a fight with Pacquiao. PISSES ME OFF.
Floyd keeps babbling on about retirement and stepping away, so a logical by product of that is taking him off the P4P list, which is only for active fighters.
Who's fault was it that the fight wasn't at 140 then smartass? It was Hatton who declined PBF twice to fight there back in 2005 when PBF had just beaten Gatti.:deal. Blame Hatton fool not PBF. It's not PBF's obligation to go back down to fight in a weightclass he hadn't fought at in two years. Hatton who was in no position to dictate terms to PBF who at that time was P4P #1 and the bigger draw. Even Hatton knew this and that's why he agreed to come up and he prepared himself the same way as he would have if the fight was ta 140 as stated by Hatton himself *******.:deal You just want to try and discredit PBF when you know damn well PBF would have beaten Hatton at any weight because he's superior. Like clockwork you come in guns blazing right at PBF fans but neglect the idiotic thread starter... so typical.:-(
p4p is for active boxers and realisticly very few are "active" what happenned to fighting 4-6 times a year their all ****ing pussies now
Wow...you are just TOO ****in dumb. Look, all that **** you posted, it doesn't make Hatton PRIME at 147. Do you understand what this thread is about? Not about blaming anyone...about PRIMES dip****. Save your fanboy rants...they make no sense. And for ****'s sake...TRY to stick to topics, not getting into excuss that don't even matter...atsch
Floyds career isn't over yet. It's premature to put him on any list. I certainly understand the feeling behind this thread. Floyds a great talent, and potentially an all time great, but has been too careful in choosing opponents. You can't judge a guy on a ATG level when he fights midgets , the elderly, and mediocrities. Also, since Floyd talks a lot, it's more tempting to point out his flagrant avoidences.
Well, one thing we can be sure of is that Floyd is never going to fight at 130lbs again, so it's fair to assess his career in that division even though his career isn't over at higher weight classes. What we can say about his career at 130lbs is that he is the greatest fighter of all time in that division.
Before Floyd fought Hatton, didnt Hatton openly say at one time that he was "not ready for the likes of Floyd Mayweather"? It wasnt until Hatton got a thick head from knocking out Castillo that he called out Floyd.
