Why is it that cotto vs margarito 2 is fine but pac-margarito is not?

    so judging from the responses from the *****s in this thread

    it sounds like they are just angry that Pacquiao is fighting for an 8th title in another division rather than the fact that Margo is getting a huge payday fight.

    When people are too good, they are held in a higher standard. Look at Floyd and Pac, it really doesn't matter who they fight, people will ALWAYS complain. They will never be contented.

    Well, i wont go as far to say that i think Pac vs Marg is a total JOKE, i am however, against the fight all in all.

    So ill comment why Pac vs Marg is much different then Cotto vs Marg 2, although i would think it apparent.


    - Pac is the p4p#1 in the world, one of the hottest fighters in the world right now, and one of boxing biggest box office draws.
    Cotto is coming off a brutal beating to this man.... is at a shaky time in his career, and is not even in the top 5 or 6 p4p.

    * Meaning: Margarito is an acceptable option for Cotto because hes IN the position right now to be fighting someone whos at the crossroads of sorts, like Margarito. A cotto vs marg 2 fight is very fitting (if marg would win another fight against a fellow contender at 154 or 147)


    Basically, the higher you are ranked, the higher the standards are going to be when it comes to your opponent IMO. Cotto is not anywhere near Pac right now, and the opponents available to him to fight, as opposed to whos acceptable for Pac (and Mayweather) will reflect this.

    Just IMO

    If the TS didn't understand this nor didn't have enough sense nor knowledge to understand why a Margarito vs Cotto Rematch would be a far better fight then Pac vs Margarito who was without a license just 3 days ago...Should tell you all you need to know about the TS!!!!

    Its a bit crazy, when Cotto vs Marg first fought, they were both two of the top fighters in their division, duking it out to see who would be 'The Man', now, if they were to rematch, they once again would be in a somewhat similar situation as the other, having fallen from their previous lofty positions (though ironically, Cotto not as much) and are at a bit of a crossroads in their careers. idk, its just interesting to me.

    I get that nobody likes the fact that this is a catchweight fight for the 154 lbs title. I don't like it either and i much rather see this fight at 147 lbs where pac can defend the WBO title.

    But that is not the point of my thread. The point is why is pac-margarito a disgrace but cotto-margarito is not. Ain't margarito the same cheater cotto is fighting if they are to fight?

    Pretty much... they have no problems with margarito-cotto 2 where margo will get paid millions for the fight and a title shot.

    Or Pac vs. Margarito is a joke, yet in a poll done, most people said Margarito would beat JMM up badley. YEt Pac vs., JMM III is fine.

    Or Pac vs. Cotto II being bad, yet Cotto vs. Mayweaher is good.

    Honeslty, I'm fine with all of those. Just consistency on this board has always sucked.

    Cotto deserves to have that loss whipped clean by fighting Margocheato on an even playing field. In other words, Cotto deserves the chance for revenge and to clear 1 of his 2 losses.

    Manny came out and said he thought Margocheato knew that he had plaster in his hands, yet he is stilling willing to fight a cheater who has disgraced the sport. Furthermore, by fighting this bum, he's allowing him to earn a multi-million dollar payday that he doesn't deserve at all!

    ****ing hell I this was an easy question.....

    Margo beat Cotto as a cheater....the rematch makes sense for this very reason...

    Getting smashed to smithereens by Mosley grants Margo a payday. The frustration is understandable.

    Margo doesnt deserve either fight or payday. But some people want to see Cotto get redemption. I think Cotto himself said he doesnt want the fight for the same reason a lot of us dont as stated above.
