I'm guessing the fight wont happen this month? There haven't been any news on the venue disputes and in the newest edition of Fight Camp 360 they talked about Abraham/Froch as if that's the next fight that'll happen.

Any of you heard anything new about Dirrell/Ward?

Showtime should just pick a damn neutral venue.

Man you know i think Showtime might be pushing for it, but Dan Goosen and Gary Shaw are probably two very greedy pricks:-(

Well being that Ward has already fought 2 at home and Dirrell only one i dont see why Dirrell cant get this one at home.
Even a neutral site does not seem reasonable for this fight based on the fact Ward has been handed this tournament on a silver platter.

I never understood this in the first place. Then there would be no delays or arguments. It is weak that Ward keeps fighting in Oakland. But do you think the network is really that much in love w/ Ward that it was done to make him the winner? I've always said this tournament was destined to **** up from the start.

There is one single historical fact that tells us what this tournament was always about. According to Ken Hershman, Showtime/Sauerland decided to exclude Bute and Pavlik because including them would cost to much. This tournament was designed to do two things. 1) Make money. 2) Promote Sauerland's fighters. I don't think it has proven to be a money maker, and Sauerland's plan obviously back fired, but that is the reality.

I completely agree. That and the thing should have been set up with fights every 120 days. We'd be down the finals by now.

They should have put the entire round robin stage in Vegas. The venue and the dates should have all been pre-set. Three fights on every card. If a fighter could not make the date for any reason, his opponent gets a buy. This thing could have been HUGE, but it was poorly assembled, and has been full of **** ups!

Shocking behaviour from a boxing promoter. I'm quite literally floored.
