The questuon isn't why Floyd fans defend him, the question is why do people continue making threads showing they care about what's going on in the life of Floyd Mayweather, that's why he contiues to make such statements, it's because the media, fans, scribes and even floyd haters will soak it up and keep people mentioning his name, personally i wish he would just retire so boxing can move on and we don't have Mayweather threads popping every other thread, just say if he doesn't fight em, fukk em.
